I don't see anything wrong with him saying it's too expensive. Just because he's rich doesn't mean he shouldn't comment on the price of certain things. The fact that this qualifies as news is what bothers me.

Is it wrong that this doesn't surprise me? :lol
I'm curious ot know if the kid complained to the media for exposure or if the reporter simply caught wind of it over the police scanner and ran with it that way.

I know the guy,
He told me he forgot to renew his insurance not that he cheaped out.
There is a difference between the two and people take the stories south.
I am sure he is an idiot and forgot but I am sure a lot of people forgot to renew their insurance and drives around with it.
Actually I know more than a few that has.
He is an idiot for complaining about the ticket tho :P

One of the very few things you've said that I don't agree with.
You can't look just at the complaint; If you look at things in context, he complained about a $~500 ticket, and probably didn't buy insurance also because it was "too expensive."
But I'm sure he had zero complaints about the price of his car.
His mindset, ethics, valus, and priorities; All of these are wrong.
But I agree it's not news worthy :ilied:

I got pulled over in richmond with no insurance. My fault, forgot to renew it as I hadn't checked my mail in a week and missed the reminder.
I knew it was a $500 + ticket, and was actually happy I got stopped, because can you imagine the pricetag if I got into an accident? I was even more happy the cop just gave me a warning and the only bill I had was $80 to tow the car to my house.

LOL why do people get so butt hurt when other people have nice things?
1. Who cares what he drives!
2. Who cares how old he is!
3. Who cares who paid for it!
4. Who cares what the driver/owner has to say about his ticket!
How does this story or the fact that his parents bought him a lambo affect you in any way, shape, or form? Did he end up getting the Lambo that you were planning on buying? Guess what, there are more where that one came from, so rest assured, you can still buy one...
This is life....People have nice things and not everyone has to earn their material goods themselves. That's how the world works...It's always been like that and it will always be like that. CTV/Province puts this shit out because they'll know they will get ignorance comments talking about "mommy and daddy's" accounts and frankly I'm surprised there hasn't been talk about immigration laws yet. I'm sure by tomorrow morning there will be a few immigration comments on that page.
What do you expect to happen, the guy gets a Lambo and you want him to say no, I don't deserve this, buy me a Civic instead?!
But serious, who gives a shit. I can't stand reading comments, Vancouver especially, RevScene notably, of people complaining about how other people have been dealt fortunate hands in life. They don't have to work hard for their goods, k cool story, now move on.

Nobody gives a fuck that he has nice things. Nobody's butt hurt over this tool.
We :seriously: because he's whining about a perfectly deserved ticket being "too expensive" when he drives a car that's worth almost 100 times the cost of the ticket.
One could understand the ticket cost being out of reach of someone driving an AE86... not for someone who's obviously a spoiled child who could probably pull enough out of his couch cushions to pay the ticket.

Trust me I'm no the same page as you with the idiotic comments about crying about the fine. You do the crime, u pay the fine...You speed excessively, you get your car impounded, you fail to pass an inspection, you get a fine, I'm in compliance and agreement with all those things. But the comments I highlighted above are DEFIANTLY hating comments. Perhaps I may have spoken out of place when I called out Rev in this thread; but there's definitely been a history of people here complaining about "mommy and daddy" paying for things (cars, tuition, etc.) and I just don't see the logic behind whining about shit like that.
"He got the car from the "bank of offshore parents!"

That's the thing I don't get. So someone that drives a 500k car can't complain about a $500 tickets? In the driver's point of view, he doesn't think it's worth $500 dollars.
Put this in another view, we often see thread about people moaning / complaining about parking tickets that cost 40 dollars because they forgot/purposely didn't pay for parking. So why aren't those people on the news with a title Driver with a 20k+ car complains about 40 dollars ticket or 2 dollars for meter.

people are such haters.
1. Who cares what he drives!
4. Who cares what the driver/owner has to say about his ticket!
because it's so hard to find humble and modest young adults from wealthy backgrounds.
this story is far from newsworthy but it is frustrating to see someone with a exotic car whine about a $500 ticket.

Actually, the article says, “When the officer gave the driver a $568 fine for not having insurance, the driver actually complained the fine was too much money.”
"Too much money" relative to driving a car worth that much, is a joke.

my insurance papers were taken as well as some other items from my car when it got broken into. The next day I drove to the autoplan dealer and got new papers, during this trip I got stopped for a random check (so the officer said). I had no papers so he gave me a notice to produce the papers within 10 days to the local detachment or pay the fine of $135. So for this Lambo to pay almost $600 is way too much. Oh and I did show the papers to the officer who followed me to the autoplan and he ripped up the ticket.
