Mr.JDM
The only company that can waive the cancelling fee of your Fido Contract is Fido's parent company, Rogers. You can ask a Fido CSR to do an account port to Rogers and your contract termination fee would get waived. However, the catch is to sign a 3 year contract with Rogers.

I don't know how much you use monthly but Fido got some new package this month or you can try calling retention and see what they can do for you

Have you looked into adjusting your plan to make it lower in price? I mean, I'm sure you have, I don't mean it in a condescending way. But looking at Fido's price plans I think they're some of the best for power users.

You would be paying about $62 for unlimited calling and texting, including calling all over Canada, caller ID, visual voicemail and 500mb data. It's a very competitive price point.

Apart from the dirty 3 (Koodoo, Wind and Chat-R), any carrier you switch to, you'll probably be spending more money for less features, I believe.

I recently spoke with a Rogers CSR about porting from Rogers to Fido. They will not waive my early cancellation fee, but only reduce it to $100. Are you speaking from experience that a port from Fido to Rogers is free?

Fido to Rogers is generally free. It varies from account to account and I'm sure there is a formula they look at. ie: how many months are left in your contract, how many services you have with them and of course how much you pay/month. But, I've yet to encounter a person who hasn't had success porting from Fido to Rogers. And I probably know about a dozen, personally, who have done so.

I heard bell pays for your cancellation fee if you switch over to them. They have some decent couples plan right now I think.

$100 to cancel a contract with a year left isn't bad - you're only paying off $8.33/month. If I was me, I'd send them a $100 bill with blood on it and tell Fido to get stuffed. Of course, that's not based on personal experience, just on a dozen or so friends who've used and despised Fido over the years.

dont' know where u guys are getting the $10 per month remaining from for voice.. it's $20 per month for voice up to a maximum for 400 and $10 for data up to a maximum for $200. Fido to rogers interbrand = waived early cancellation provided you meet ALL of the criteria. Rogers to Fido = reduced to $100. Bell does not pay you to switch, you have to get a small business plan x 2 to get the bill credit and bell is really strict when it comes to small business so you have to be legit and able to provide proof.
