Any recommendation around these two areas? Any type of food should be fine.

On Commercial drive, Havanas was good when I tried it a while ago. Falconetti's was visited by Diners, Drive inns, and dives.

If you're up for some Japanese, check out Kishimoto on the drive.

They do aburri salmon nigiri really well. And they have this unagi stone bowl rice dish. So damn good :ahwow:

Happy Family Restaurant on Kingsway & Gladstone (Beside the KFC.) The food and service is pretty good and doesn't break the bank. Family owned and operated.

Specifically on The Drive, I would say Biercraft is still pretty decent. Good selection of beer and tasty mussels..

I personally like Chili Pepper House by Rupert, comfort food for me, Green Lettuce is similar stuff closer to Commercial on Kingsway by Victoria Dr.

I was walking downwards to Clark to get some Japanese food from Fuijiya and came across Truck Stop Cafe. Pretty good food all day breakfast and burgers. Quick and friendly service too.

Oh god. That place is awful. Famoso across the street has substantially better pizza, and even that isn't great. Falconettis on the drive is pretty good for bar style food.

It's funny b/c it is a little greasy spoon diner that most ppl wouldn't even look twice at. I spoke to a few ppl and they all said the food is good there.

If you like craptacular service come here. Good thing there's tons of choices for pizza now.

Craptacular service doesn't even begin to describe the horror of this place. :fuckthatshit:

Fail-conetti's. Had horrible experiences last 2 times I was there (food sucks. service sucks). Much worse than Marcello's but even that was marginal at best (food was the redeeming factor).

I'm liking The Charlatan on the drive for food and drinks lately.

Donna cata Mexican tacos

Dona Cata no longer exists. :(

It's been replaced by I believe some shitty hipster take on what we would like to think is Mexican cuisine.

Fail-conetti's. Had horrible experiences last 2 times I was there (food sucks. service sucks). When was the last time you were there? A guy I used to cater with a bit just started there, and he's a fairly talented cook. I couldn't imagine him working there if the food was shit, but I could be wrong.

I was there September and August.

2 weekend’s ago I tried to come here but ended up getting shafted with the late night menu, at 6:30pm. Made it this weekend, and was able to order off the regular menu (Yay?) First fuck-up of the night was our appetizer platter. They were out of riblets so they substituted a second flavour of wings, fair enough. When our plate showed up, it was extra sausage. The waitress offered to re-make it for us. When we get it second time, it was extra wings but all the same flavour. Fuck it, by now were hungry.

Later when our entrees come, I had a Yucatan Chicken sausage wrap with a West Coast salad. Got a Caesar salad instead.

Seriously not impressed with the food or service. This place is run by hipsters for hipsters. Slight redeeming factor was the roof top patio. Take your money elsewhere.

My recent experience at Failconetti's was also underwhelming. Food was "meh."

I never had bad bad service nor food from Marcellos. Quite the contrary but that was a few years ago when I went last. Biercraft is a another great suggestion and Havanas as well.
