I do hope they end up producing the M7. They need to stack something up against the S63/65.

Yup, it's time BMW grew some balls and produced the M7 and I hope BMW gives the 7 a sleeker body, similar to the 6 gran coupe.

Looks nice, but holy fuck is bmw ever making a lot of cars that are VERY similar. It feels like they are writing a 50 dish menu with only 10 ingredients. Especially with all the 2 and 4 series talk.

It's. Not. A. Fucking. Coupe.
I hate how car makers are going this route with sporty four-doors that "look like" a coupe. Just call it a 5-ser and be done with it. :banghead:
That said, it's a pretty sexy looking car.

I'm surprised not to see the LCD instrument cluster on the m6, the current 7has the full LCD instrument cluster on EU models, US models will get it next year so maybe the m6 will be getting it on later production models. I just ordered this part and I'm going to be retrofitting it in my 7 hopefully later this month.

I think I just found my next car! :D
I have been thinking about getting a 650 GC since F10 M5's design doesn't grow on me no matter how I look at it and M6 coupe is not practical with the baby's arrival.
Now, I just hope the lease rate on this monster is reasonable in a year and half when my current lease is done. Stupid BMW keeps insisting on 5%+ lease rate when pretty much every other manufacturers offer less than 3%.
Any info about pricing on this car? Is it gonna be the same ~10k markup like on non-M 6 series?

Amen! The F10 M5 is a little bit too bulky for my liking. Mind you, I think the new CLS63 is too bulky as well (since I came out of the previous year CLS63, I loved the 2006-2010 CLSs), but it did grow on me.... until this was released!:fullofwin:
Hopefully I will be able to pick up a used one in a year from now as well (in Singapore grey).
As far as the pricing goes, I am certain that it would be on par with the M6 Coupe, just like the M3 sedan was pretty much the same price as the M3 coupe. Plus, since its a direct competitor to the CLS63, I think the price tag should be around $115K (as is the case with the CLS without the PP)...

You're better off buying the car right out, I would never lease the gran coupe or m6 with the rates BMW has or just wait a year or two and do balloon financing. And what 10k markup? Dealers in the lower mainland are selling the gran coupe for invoice, maybe a slight discount depending on your relationship with your sales guy.

By markup, I was actually referring the difference in price between 6 series coupe vs. 6 series GC for essentially the same config but 2 extra doors. (which I find it rather steep, but oh well)
The thing with buying the car out is that when I want to get rid of it, I either have to wait to find a buyer, or stealership usually offers me less money than what would have been the lease residual value. I have found it to be true on any luxury brands that I have had experience, either personal or my family, with (BMW, Infiniti, Audi/VW and Range Rovers).
And I change a car every 2~3 years, so leasing makes a lot more sense to me considering I can write off a fair portion of it on tax. I haven't owned a vehicle in the last 7 years and I'm perfectly happy with it.
Speaking of leasing, I have this feeling that leasing seems to be on its way out. More and more manufacturers are starting to offer promo rates only on financing. So, I'd enjoy it while I still can.

BMW's balloon payment is in some ways similar to leasing, monthly payments work out to be almost the same as a lease payment and you never end up paying the balloon amount at the end because usually the dealer will allow you to trade up. Only issue with the balloon payment might be the credit check for some people because you have to get financed on the full vehicle price. And isn't tax dedication for business only up to $800/month or something?

Less than 800 if u factor in that the car cost a lot more than $30,000

This being a 5 door, they should have just made this the M5.

An M7 would be awesome. Something like a twin-turbo V12.
Or re-make the Alpina B12. That would do nicely too.

I guess I will try that route with my accountant when my lease is done. I'm just a sucker glutton for super low rates.
Being able to write off some lease cost on tax is just one of the advantages leasing offers me. And I am not looking for car leases for $800/mth with 0 down. I usually pay enough DP so the monthly payment amount is ideal for my taxes.

I like the look and all that, but I really don't get why they wouldn't market this as an M5 'gran coupe'. I mean, it fits in more with the 5s since it's a 4-door, even if it is "coupe-styled" or whatever marketing-ese they're using to justify it.
Honestly, I think it's just kind of confusing and muddying the waters now.
1 series coupe, 3 series coupe and sedan and wagon, five series sedan and hatch (sorry--"gran turismo"), six series coupe (and now sedan), seven series sedan. Y U NO JUST DO IT LOGICALLY.

BMW released their official photos and statement today.
I'm not quite sure what to say. I want to like it, but perhaps more as an M5 than an "M6 Gran Coupe." That side profile is fantastic, but something about the straight on shots of both the front and rear is a little off...
Last month, BMW teased a shady, sinister-looking M-Power version of its 6-Series Gran Coupe. Today, it has given us both barrels straight to the chest. Internet: meet the M6 Gran Coupe.
As we suspected, it sports very similar firepower to its ‘standard' BMW M5 and M6 brethren. And by very similar, we mean identical: underneath that rather lovely body sits a 4.4-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine developing 552bhp and 502lb ft of torque.
As such, it will accelerate from 0-62mph in just 4.2 seconds - exactly the same as the M6 Coupe and 0.1s quicker than the M5 - and run on to a limited top speed of 155mph. If you so wish - and you live in Germany or own substantial acres of awesomely paved, straight runway - you can have the limiter set to 189mph with the M Driver's pack.
That power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed double clutch M gearbox, featuring Launch Control (which is ace), and something called low speed assistance. We doubt with 552 horses under the bonnet, this will ever be an issue.
There's an electronic limited-slip diff at the back in collusion with the DSC stability control, both of which distribute the engine's power to give you maximum traction when a sudden burst of B-road rage descends. There's also a hydraulic steering rack (surely a good thing), optional carbon ceramic brakes, and dynamic damper control to better tailor the chassis.
Outside, it's familiar M fare, with those large air intakes sitting underneath the M kidney grille, flared wheelarches - pointing to a wider track both front and rear for the M6 Gran Coupe - 20in alloys, a new rear apron and of course, M-Power's favoured quartet of exhaust pipes at the back. Oh, and that rear apron incorporates a CFRP diffuser too, helping direct the airflow underneath the Gran Coupe.
It costs €128,000 in Germany, which is around £103,000, which is around £10k more than a BMW M6 Coupe. Do you, as BMW implores, agree that it brings "luxury and aesthetic appeal" to the M6 range? Tell us below.
