What Is Everyone's Go-To Lens?

Which one lens is everyone using for their go-to lens for everyday and special event occasions?
Currently using a 24-70mm F2.8, although I do miss shooting with primes.

I cannot decide. I swap lenses all day everyday. :(
I wish there was a 11-400mm f2.8 VR that's made out of the best materials possible with awesome everything. Simply the best lens ever made for everything.
One can only dream :)
For the most part I use a Tokina 11-16 and sometimes a 50mm but like I said I cannot decide which would be my go to lens. I like them all, I use them all and I want them all! Gotta catch'em all!!

24-105 for walk around lense and 70-200 L IS II for portraits (which is very sharp wide open).
Tempted to get the 16-35 L II. It has a useful range but crappy corner performance on full frame. Can't justify spending that much money on it and having to stop down to F/8 or F/11 to get the corners sharp. I will just wait for the next generation; but knowing Canon, the next gen lens will be doubled in price.

I want to get a 50mm prime again, I sold my 50 F1.8 (my first lens I bought) 1.5 year ago. So light and fast!

Walk around lens: mostly the 5DmkIII + 24-105L, but I also keep the 70-200L IS II in the bag.
Wedding lenses: 8-15L, 35L, 50L, 24-70L II, 70-200L IS II, along with the 1DX.

Tammy 17-50 f/2.8 VC!
As much as the VC jumps instead of floats over, it's damn effective [rated for 4 stops].
For events, Magic Drainpipe stays glued to my camera (80-200 f/2.8L). It may not have IS or USM, but the AF-D on it works damn well. Also, audience members seems to not notice a black lens so much as they might a white one!

BUMPING this thread!
My buddy is planning to propose and asked me to capture some images. I own a 24-70 F2.8 and 85 F1.8.
I used my 24-70 100% of the time a few months ago when I helped another buddy shoot his proposal. Would any of you guys use the 85? The 24-70 seems to be able to do it all.

The 24-70 sucks @ F1.8!
on Canon -> 24-70 f2.8 VR
on Olympus m43 -> 17mm f1.8

I absolutely love my Sigma 85mm f1.4 as well but it isn't my go to for everyday shooting. My walk around lens is the 35mm f1.4. :accepted:

The 35mm 1.8 is the only lens that I use.
I had the 18-55mm and the 55-200mm, but found them unnecessary for my style.

My go to lens, is the Canon 17-40F4L. Why? Because it's the only lighter lens I own. Although I do really enjoy the 70-200 2.8 for basically everything!

Out of three lenses (EF-S 17-85 kit, old EF 75-300, and EF 50/1.8), I'd have to say the Nifty-50 sees the most use. Just love how fast it is vs. the other two.

I am planning on doing my backpacking trip with a 17-40 mounted on my new 6D and a cheap and light zoom in the pack, something like the Tamron 55-200mm that I took with me to Spain. I found that on my recent trip to Spain, I took a TON of photos at 17mm and really would not be happy with the compromise to 24mm to replace it with a 24-105.

So are many of these go to lenses wide angle? What constitutes a wide angle lense?

Since 50mm is the standard (on full frame), I would say anything below that is wide.
My go to is the Sigma 35mm f1.4

and my main lens for video is my old school 50mm 1.4 ai-s

Zeiss 35/1.4. Great for all round on crop sensor, and great for portraits in context on FF!
For me it's the 24-70 as my walk around/travel lens. If I'm shooting with people I use the 70-200 more.

For Groups photos 35 1.4L
For walking around 50 1.2L
For Portraits, 85 1.2L
For Candids, 135 2.0L

The one that I have on the camera.
18-135 stm....nothing special but its not stupid expensive, the quality is decent. Focus ring is buttery smooth....better than some of my L glass.
It changes once in a while, but the 18-135 stm is a decent "kit" lens.
