Hey everyone,

I'm currently attending my 2nd year in university and am looking for a part-time job. Preferably something to do with labour but customer service jobs are fine too. I have over three years of construction experience, class 3 drivers license and team work experience. I am eligible to work in Canada. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

A lot of places are hiring for Christmas. You better hurry and hand in your resumes cuz you also need at least 2 weeks of training I assume for any job.

Thanks for the input, walking around you seem to forget about some of those places. I've thought about Costco, I bet UPs would be insanity at this time of the year but possibility for OT and lots of shifts!

^ UPS finished their hiring for helpers this holiday season. And you barely get OT they only use you for 4-6 hours to help driver.

I heard EA was hiring 200+ gaming testers.. so if you like games try for that

Do you walk in and drop off resume with Costco and Safeway?

How about the EA one?

Really? EA hiring QA Testers? Nice!

rong garage, you could try the following websites. They might help

workopolis.ca
workbc.ca
jobbank.gc.ca
civicinfo.bc.ca

That's all I can think of right now.

if you people think being a QA tester is fun, you are going to be disappointed

The tester's don't exactly play games as a job. Examples of test cases are listening for audio bugs, or executing a game 100 times to see if it crashes. This is what I heard from devs/recruiters last week. Former coworkers who worked as EA QA also did not speak highly of the position.

EA Burnaby does have nice sports facilities though, including an indoor basketball court, gym, yoga studio, outdoor soccer field, outdoor basketball court, beach volleyball and the usual ping-pong/foosball/arcade games.

I talked to my friend who is a tester for EA, he has worked out of the Burnaby facility and spoke highly of their sports facility. He has information on the hiring staff and is going to get back to me on that, I'll drop you a line ShadowBun, once I have more information. I realize it's not all about playing COD and getting paid, but it sounds more interesting than dishwashing at Urban Fare...:P
