hello people of revscene. there these drug addicts who always use one of the stairway on our property as a place to shoot drugs. we caught them so many times in the last 2 year. the police never been able to catch them or arrive on time. we caught them under security camera. is there anything to do about them. we made threats and called the police. nothing seems to work. they are on private property, is it legal for me to bear mace them and then call the police. any input appreciated.

Day 1: I have tried every browser at my disposal and it blows my mind because the pics just refuse to load.
Day 2: I have concluded that I must have received some sort of virus through my email. I have canceled all email accounts and reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Pics still not loading.
Day 3: I'm running out of options here. There must be some glitch in the Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Operating System. Thanks Bill Gates. Switching to MAC OS X maybe this will prove effective.
Day 4: MAC OS X installation complete. I'm drawing a blank here. Pics still won't load. After ruling out software errors, I am convinced that there must be some lingering mechanical failure in my system. I have placed an order to newegg for rush delivery of a new Western Digital Caviar Black HDD. Will give this another shot tomorrow.
Day 5: Harddrive has arrived and has been installed. To no avail, the pictures will not load. I have not shaved or showered in a week. My clothes stink. I have lost my job...all because these confounded pictures will not load. I'm done with the whole electronics thing. I will be moving into an Amish community and this will be my last update on this issue. Good luck and good riddance.

1. Beat the living shit out of them
2. Threaten them to never come back again
3. Call the cops and say they attacked you
4. 4 won't be needed. That should fix your problem

@H.Specter: As Mr. Hardman... Didn't I relocate you to the 46th floor? :dead:
I wish our city had a removal service like Ghostbusters but for junkies. lol
The police wont do anything with the security footage? They should be able to ban them from the area..

ok.
before i can help answer this; a few questions.
are you the building manager or property owner?
what sort of access control is in place for the stairway on your property?
use of bear mace against anything other than an animal would most likely land you an assault charge as well as possession of a prohibited weapon. usually when you purchase bear mace legally you are required to sign a waiver saying you will not use bear mace against people as such use would carry consequences (https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Canadian_Criminal_Law/Weapons). if you bear mace the drug addicts and call the police the only person being taken away will be you.

Did you call 911 or the non-emergency line?
This happened to me once, I was driving into my underground lot and saw 2 junkies cooking. Called non-emergency around midnight, and cop showed up around 2am
Are you the building manager or just a resident?

I m the property owner. There is really very little control. Only security camera, no lock gate. Few sign of private property. The door to the parkade is locked. So they just cook right outside the door. Blocking the stairway. They are really despicable. If you tell them to leave they will even try to start argument with you. I called 911 at least 5 times in the last year.

Ask them if they have discovered the word of our lord.
Go for the old testament stuff, work up a good lather, rant a bit too.
A vid of the action would be nice.
This worked great on the unappetizing hooker that hopped into my car and refused to leave.

could you take a picture of the stairway and the area they're shooting up?
right now it seems like access control systems would be the best bet. also, i would be concerned about dirty needles being left around the area.

Install some heaters or very bright lights or something there that won't affect people walking through but will make it very unpleasant for people to stay there.
If possible, as T4RAWR mentioned, just block off access to the area. I'm sure if you explain to the tenants there are junkies leaving used needles around they'd agree in a heartbeat.
if law enforcement isnt helping youre gonna have to take the matter in your own hands. hire some thugs to keep em out

i'm thinking if that route is taken better them them vandal-proofed.

you make friends and shoot with them, then tell them the best place to shoot is actually downtown eastside.
hopefully that will help

The best thing to do is sneak up and put a M80 near them & watch them run !

you should bring up to the building that this is happening and maybe see if the building can chip in with a deterrent.
One of Hotels my company manages in Edmonton used to have a problem with teen crime and drug addicts, so what they did was add a noise deterrent.
Its a mosquito buzzing noise that deters people from loitering around.
I dont know which the hotel is using, but I searched google and first thing the came up was this: Mosquito Device Anti Loitering (http://movingsoundtech.com/)
It has worked dramatically for the hotel, so I hope this might help you as well.

There is light all the time. But they come during the night and sometime during the day. They leave coffee cup and needles behind. They really have some balls. Kinda wana put on a mask and do some vigilante stuff.

With any needles around, if your going vigilante, be really careful because the last thing you want is getting whatever they've got. :heckno:
I'd actually agree with the M80 idea. Fuck mace, go get a box of bearscares, a big roll of wick, and next time they're there, light afew and toss them about 4-5' away from them. They'll definitely get the point REALLY quick.

if dirty needles are being left behind its definitely a concern.
try writing the mayor with your concerns. also try contacting media outlets and expressing your concern over the lack of support from law enforcement personnel.
lastly, you may need to beef up the access control in the area somehow to keep those folks out. higher fences, locked gates, etc etc

1) Buy a ton of crack rocks -- I'm talking 2-300
2) Make a line of crack rocks on the ground leading from the area where they shoot up to under a giant box
3) Prop a box up with a stick, with a rope tied to the stick
4) Wait until they follow the trail of crack rocks underneath the box and BAM! Pull the string
Done. You've caught yourself some junkies.
This approach worked with a few pesky bunny wabbits i had running around my yard. This shouldn't be too different

Kinda reminds me of my neighbors in my apartment complex.. Estranged couple, a rather abusive boyfriend and they have shouting matches so loud you can hear them from outside the building. Every other night they light up a joint and it stinks up the whole lobby/hallway area where you get into your suite.. There's a rather young family that lives in the same building as me so they complain, but it keeps happening. My complex manager's warned them a couple times about the stuff they're doing and they're on the verge of being kicked out

make a rock out of rat poison and leave in it a little baggy in the door well, hopefully they shoot it :troll:
Also you dont have to directly bear mase them, but if not many ppl use the spot where they hang out just buy some bear mace and mace the shit out of the area, that shit lingers forever and the last thing u want is to stick around there

i think as long as they're inside it should affect them. only people within close proximity should be affected (i.e. those people in the stairwell)

that would probably be fine actually....
cold water from the hose at night time... might actually cause them to freeze to death
not sure what sort of legal ramifications it would have but i dont think any judge would charge you with assault (dont quote me on that).
it'd be hilarious if there were sprinklers on a timer in that area and they turned on at the hours that the crack heads are there.

mosquito alarms only works on young people or people with very good hearing. Here the sound here. Mosquito Ringtones - Download the Mosquito Ring Tone Free (http://www.freemosquitoringtones.org/)
I would install some real bright flood lights and put some signs up and tell the tenants to call the manager and the cops when ever they see something happening.

can i ask what makes this stairway area so attractive to these addicts? i know it's a hard question to answer but my angle is if you find out what's attracting them to come here and shoot em up, then you just need to take out that factor/element to make them go away.
any clues/ideas as to why they come here in the first place?

IMO.
T4 - It's not uncommon for a person to be charged with assault for spraying another person with a garden hose.
1. Bear Mace - assault with a weapon.
2. Water House - assault.
3. Water House (likely event, victims die of hypothermia) - manslaughter.
If you don't want them chilling out there, install a gate and remove access.
The call will never be a high priority for police, because no one is in immediate danger.
The police will never make a serious effort to prevent the people from using the area, because all that would achieve is displacing the problem to another stair well to no real effect.
Homelessness is a reality of life in large population centers, accept it, or move to the country.
To be quite honest, your concern over dirty needless is warranted, but your desire to bear mace a group of people doing you no immediate harm affords you less respect than the addicts, in my eyes. A better solution would be taking a stroll through the area in the morning to ensure no needles have been left behind, and disposing of them in a sharps container.

Well I live near Edmund station. The stair case provides shelter for them. The drug dealer uses the area to deal. I can't really put a gate to the stair because they just jump over it. I told my coworker about it. My boss said just go during night and paintball the addict. It's getting ridiculous that Everytime I open the door to the stairway I have to listen for people on the other side. I think next time if I hear people I am just gonna call 911. So they wouldn't flee.

have you told the police when you spoke to them that drug dealers use the area to deal? i've looked at the picture you posted and removing shelter doesn't seem like an option, can't you put a gate that's high enough so they can't jump over it?

1. Motion sensors with bright ass lights. No one likes getting high like it was bright as day.
2. Setup loud speakers with white noise, or some high pitched annoying sound. Like Dan mentioned... the Biebs.
3. Kidnap two of the junkies, store them in your basement for a couple days. Cut off the fingers of one and make the other one watch. Let them loose to spread word that you're not to be fucked with.

That works well with a bunch of 14 year olds smoking weed. But if you do that to a bunch of junkies with nothing to lose doing hard drugs, you might find yourself woken up to a townhome set on fire..
Not much OP can do but set a gate. Sucks when the law won't do anything.. And you can't take the law into your own hands
