I've used Alamo and National before and drove it to the states. Whoever you rent it from make sure they allow you to take the car into the states and most companies do have unlimited mileage. The last time I rented a Lincoln MKX from Alamo and put 3500 km on it when driving it to the states without any issues.
Alamo/National/Avis are usually pretty headache free.
Look online real quick at who has the best rates, go to the individual websites and read up on their TOS, everything regarding mileage/additional drivers/allowed regions of travel should be outlined there
