It's legit. Had ING for a few years now. It's $25 referral for 11 months a year...and when it's Xmas season, they bump it to $50. It's been like that for the past few years.

If you switch your payroll over, you get an extra $100 as well. Don't know if they still have that offer though.

It's $100 Apple gift card...but yes it ended already. But they happen at least 2-3 times a year...

they're legit - last time they did the crazy referral plan to raise capital and get bought out, and it worked. Now they're probably up to smoething again :suspicious: regardless it's legit

Can you just EMT the funds from the ING Investment Savings Account to your other banking institution when the $50 has been credited to your account?

The $100 apple gift card offer ends on December 31 but I guess it's effectively over unless your HR department can get your direct deposit info switched over in time before the month ends.

I have to say I signed up for ING not too long ago and have been VERY impressed so far. Unlimited bill payments/debits, free e-mail money transfer, can link multiple bank accounts, free first 50 cheques not that I even use them much but it's still nice to have, access to a lot of ATMs (exchange network), nice mobile app, and the interest rate for the Savings account beats my RBC's. It has become my main bank of choice with RBC as a backup.

Gotta love ING direct and their holiday specials.

As soon as you sign up you can deposit money
The first time you need to mail a cheque for $100 to them
This way they can link that chequing account to your ING account
After this everything can be done online or through bank machines
(this all takes about 3 business days to complete and you can transfer the $150 out right after or keep it in there for their regular 1.3% or tfsa 1.4% interest rates)
Keep in mind ING Canada Banking Division got bought out by ScotiaBank
Which is a huge plus for customers as it gives us the brick and mortar establishments and access to its atm network here in Canada

I just signed up, I'm guessing the account is not yet complete until I mail the cheque to ING direct.

After the cheque has been cleared, and the $150 is in my account, will I receive my orange key then?

you receive your orange key right after signing up

Ive been using ING for a few years now. Pretty decent interest rates on the TFSA but it used to be a lot better in the past.

Anyone but OP right? :troll:

shouldnt this go in the Official Freebies thread?

It should....but OP wanted referral $$$ and decided to start a thread dedicated to it....

This is legit.
1) it's ING Direct, they're a huge company
2) I've done this before

You need an orange key to sign up to get the $50 bonus. So don't just sign up and expect to get the promo.
It's super easy to do, If you want an orange key pm me.

ps. once you send them a $100 cheque that chequing account is automatically linked to your ING account so you can transfer money between your ING account and that chequing account seamlessly.

If anyone wants an Orange Key for sign up bonus, PM me :)
Takes approximately 3 business days to receive the bonus of $50 dollars

I've been using ING for the past 4 years. Though I plan to switch in the New Year.

You guys dont even know what i wrote before it got taken down
Anyways when i was reading the redflagdeals thread it clearly said you needed an orange key to get the $50 when you sign up
I put mine there to make it easy for others instead of you having to google one up
Im already pretty happy this turned out legit and i got free $50 money
So go spread the word

Thanks bro! Orange code sent!

For others who have been on the fence about signing up, it's absolutely legitimate (call ING direct if you're still concerned).

It's a great way to earn $50 for free, and the earning potential is huge if your family and friends haven't yet signed up. I'm sure they would appreciate earning $50 this holiday anyways.

There's also a $50 sign-up bonus that they give you instead of the referral. That way people who don't have anyone to refer them won't lose out on the bonus.

Which means there really is no incentive for someone to use someone's orange key other than being nice or making a deal with that person to split the $50 he gets ($25 each).

where in the world does it say you have to split the $50 you get?? :failed:

my friend signed up using my orange key and he just got his $50 this week
i also got extra $50 credited to my account shortly after
besides, it clearly says on the ING website that you get $50 EACH
apparantly they have this offer every year around december
(a couple of members here confirmed this)
so the only person you were being nice to is ING by saving them the $50 that your friend or someone else could have had this holiday season
