Hey rs members, just want to throw a little thread around because of the upcoming new years, I know everyone have a new years resolution and thought it would be nice for some of us to share em!

The way I come up with my goals are by using S.M.A.R.T
Specific
Measurable
Achieveable
Realistic
Timely

There are so many category I can pick from but ill started with these,
I wish to achieve an A average at BCIT for my 2nd semester of marketing communications
I wish to go back to the gym and recover as much as I can from my car accident, I wish to be lifting close to the weights I was doing before
Lastly and most cliche, I want to be happy, will not allow little small things ruin my day or my mood.

These are just some small ones I came up with, wish to hear some of yall! Happy new years guys

Hmmmmm........

Have to think about this one more. But a couple of things off the top of my head would be to learn some more useful skills such as cooking healthy and delicious meals, learning an instrument, (piano?) and quitting smoking for good while also cutting back on alcohol.

I read this a couple days ago and think its pretty applicable to people replying in this thread:

Zero debt, other than mortgage. I'm almost there, but the last hump has been tough to get over. It seems some stupid shit always comes up that I'm not prepared for.
New job, already sort of in the process.
10 lbs drop would be nice.
All really attainable stuff, but life quality would go up huge from it.

1. Pay off student loans completely by the time I get my tax refund which should be a big refund since I have leftover tuition credit carried forward from previous years.

2. Bought a squat rack + olympic barbell + bench + weights. Now that I have a home gym, there's no excuse to not working out. Gonna workout and eat properly and get huge.

3. Finish all my modules and attain my professional designation for my field of work.

I had a pretty incredible 2012, but I think part of my "success" (for lack of a better term) was the fact that I didn't set any hard goals in January. In my experience, setting too many goals only sets you up for disappointment by the year's end. I think everyone should commit to looking for opportunities for self-improvement each day and from there, success will follow.

One final thing - a common goal here seems to be "finding a girl". I hate to repeat cliches, but "finding a girl" gets you nowhere; sometimes, the right woman is right under your nose.

Come down to Gastown

Seriously, of all my addictions and vices, the absolutely toughest one to resist, is eating nachos and drinking beer. I am literally 10/10 in euphoria when consuming corn chips covered in greasy toppings and sipping on an ice cold beer. I get a high like doing a line of cocaine from it.

Be as punctual as possible for work and out of work. Just because I'm just meeting up with friends doesn't mean it's ok to be late. Gotta get into the the habit of leaving early and preparing for stuff ahead of time.

Staying on top of emails, customer requests and re-stocking.

Try to stick with a healthy eating habit and hitting the gym at least once a week.

Start yoga and try to go at least once a week.

Step out even more from my comfort zone and make new friends.

Find out exactly what I want to volunteer in and participate at least once a week.

Find a small group and be more involved with the church.

Agreed, being late shows zero respect for whoever you're meeting. I'm pretty much always early and if I was going to be late even by a couple minutes I'd call and let them know. I can't stand when people are late especially when it's work related.

But here it goes:

2. Double my company's debt. :fuckthatshit:
3. Quit my job. (still need the income with wife being on mat-leave and all. But hopefully my investment properties would pay off)
