I agree. The only two series that approach the standard set by TNG are DS9 and M*A*S*H; DS9 is a much closer reiteration of a concept to TNG, than, TNG to the OS, putting it a step below overall, and M*A*S*H looks at the world through the eyes of its contemporaries unlike any Star Trek series, which is a canon of lesser difficulty to execute.

Fuck Wesley, he's the protagonist in all my least favourite TNG episodes. The writers should have sent him off to the academy, and all but off the show.

Ro Laren is vastly superior in every sense, and would have filled the void created by Wesley's death or departure perfectly.

I really enjoyed TNG and DS9.
There are some lame episodes in DS9 but the majority of them are entertaining.
