We can avoid more senseless seat slaughter by enacting box cutter control!

Our only opposition is the National Emo Association, who claim that box cutters are for relieving stress, not for cutting up innocent seats.

Maybe the person profiting from replacing these seats hired this guy... what ever it is, fuck Translink. We need Terry Nelson to nationalize this shit.

People don't kill people. Cutters kill people. Lets prevent another 9/11 and ban box cutters.

Transit police say the fabric of 480 seats was cut with a box cutter between August and November, and that the cost to repair the seats would be over $45,000.

A 63-year-old Surrey, B.C., man who used to do contract maintenance work for TransLink has been charged after allegedly slashing nearly 500 SkyTrain seats.
Guy probably thought he was wronged by tranlink and wanted to get payback...only problem is what he did will only hurt other taxpayers... :okay:

$10 seat, $90 in labor for the 3 union employees required to install it.

last week the train stopped on the tracks at 1 am. some guy kept pressing the emergency button, about 400 times, trying to get an operater not realzing that everytime he pressed the button he was hanging up on the guy. His reason?

He was going to miss his fucking bus home.

I had to deal with 30 minutes of this guy pressing the fucking button.

"Operator...can we speed up the train and pass-up a few stations...I got a connection to make" :derp:

Must not have been that easy actually finding out who did it just based on surveillance footage.

Were you dropped on your head a half dozen times when you were a baby and kicked around a bunch of times before one of your parents picked you up off the ground?

Given that I've never known any shop to deviate from assessing cost based on full hours, even if only a partial hour is consumed, $100 seems entirely reasonable.

$40 - 1 employee/hour (wage + e.i. + c.p.p. + benefits + office)

$25 - 1 shop space/hour (net monthly cost of electricity, water, maintenance/working hours)

$35 - 1 institutional upholstered plastic seat shell (institutional = expensive, because of lower production volumes)

I dunno ... I rather its a 63 year old guy with old school mentality who feels he was wrongfully done by translink, then some 20 somethink punk who just thinks 'translink sucks because prices are rising and service stops at 1am ' type of mentality.

Curiuos why this guy did it. Maybe he was let go or something.

I would much rather a 20 something punk do this, cause a judge can make him pay for the damages during the course of his life.

A 63 year old fucktard like this guy who takes public transit to get around, more than likely has no money and will cry foul to the judge about his financial situation and use his age as a excuse to get out of paying for the damages.

He can either pay for it, or get his seats all cut up, in his house, his car, etc. see how he likes it
