Anyone have any experiences with teaching in both sectors? Are salaries competitive with each other? Any information will be appreciated.

my wife is a teacher. short answer; no. private sector gets paid more - but no union security or and of the perks and benefits associated with the union (sick days, collective bargaining etc...)
