Best and cheapest way to get out of a robbers plan??

My wife and I are on a family plan and we end up paying way too much
Wind moble has wicked deals ATM but when talking to robbers they would give us any better deal. The price we are paying is 157 taxes in and we get 500 mins shared
Unlimited after 6
Unlimited txt
1 gb shared
Caller Id for my phone only +$7
I'm not looking for a $20 deal with everything
I'm just looking for something fair

imo, at almost $80/line with next to no features. ANYTHING is better than that.

not sure if fido still has it available but their $56 promo plan gives you all of that but they have the $57 plan...

Cheapest/best way is to get someone else to takeover your contract

Other than that you're SOL and would have to pay the cancellation fee

PS. Fuck rogers

No one's going to take over a contract like that. He should have researched before he signed his contract.

Options are: call retentions and politely explain the situation and see if you can negotiate. Some ppl call multiple times as you might get a better rep although I've heard they keep track of the times you call.

Check to see if other carriers are still doing the pay your cancellation fee if you switch promo. You can also try using this as a tactic during your retention call.

Maybe call and see if you can get a better deal first?
I pay about $215 to cancel my rogers plan. Was on a 3 year contract and I was paying about $85 per month. Now I pay $62 with better plans.

How were you able to get them to cancel your plan from $600~ to 215?

Like others have said, call in and see if you can change your plan up.

If you're set on switching, just do the math. What's the delta between the next few years on Wind and what you'd be paying with Rogers? If it's more than the cost to cancel, than you're saving. You'll probably find that the savings you could have in 6 months, would cover your cancellation fees.

I only have about 8 months left in my contract. But overall I save money since I got a new cell phone and a cheaper plan overall.

Be prepared to quit rogers. Be ready to sell your smart phones and use the proceeds to pay off your contract. You will most likely need new ones on wind anyways because of the different frequency they use. unfortunately, you will need to pay for new ones on wind (im not familiar with wind's plan with new handsets).

I highly recommend cancelling your rogers plans over the phone. Say you want it cancelled as of this date. They will inform you of the charges and say yes. you will be transferred to retentions and they will offer you a better plan. Sound hesitant and disinterested because the moment you sound eager to stay or demanding they will not budge on giving you a better plan. Being nice to the agent is key. Let them sell to you.

Edit:
Id like to add they dont usually match Wind/mobilcity plans so it's best to say you are leaving for bell/telus when the agent asks you why you are leaving.

In the past I have reviewed my current contract and changed to current plans they had that were better in the middle of my contract time.

Do they not let you change plans mid contract anymore?

I'm pretty sure they do. Back in December just before christmas I called in and asked how much it was to cancel my contract. The dude didnt even tell me how much. Instead he immediately said "oh let's see what we can do for you. What were you looking for?"

just call in, negotiate to have your upgrade fee waived, renew your plan at a store for say something cheap maybe worth 200bux economic inducement. cancel your contract after they waived the upgrade fee (physically done on your bill) cancel your plan for economic inducement+12.50... done?

yes if you meet the eligibility

account in good standing
must sign on a new contract
account have been open for more than 1yr
must keep same phone number and account holder
last i remembered it doesn't apply to iphone 5 though.
and it's getting harder and harder to have a reason they'll accept lol.

i've gotten one of my friend out of his 500bux contract from fido and slapped him on bell doing that lol.. switched over from fido to rogers. didn't get a phone but signed a 3yr contract. once the cancellation fee on fido is waived i ported him out to bell lol. at the end only cost him like 120bux coz have to pay 30days notice crap on both fido and rogers

I just did a port from Rogers to Fido to take Fido's $56 plan. My cancellation fees was $6xx for 2 lines. But they both met all requirements so Rogers is going to pay me back $4xx to lower the cancellation fee to $100 for each line. Only stupid thing is that it takes up to 8 weeks for the credit. But they charged my credit card $6xx already. Fags.

wow... people who signs contracts without thinking about whats in it..

either give it to someone else and pay little bit of money or just pay the entire cxl fee..

I doubt anyone would take over a contract like that without any incentives...
