I currently have an iphone 4s locked to fido. apparently everything I do in China on my phone is going to cost extra. incoming, 3g, and texts, just wondering what do you guys usually do to get a phone in China.

I have an old unlocked Sony Ericsson k790 that I use when I went China. I bought my sim card here at the place in Richmond below Superstore.

See if you can borrow an unlocked phone from your friend for free.

My dad went back with a rogers locked iphone 4s. used a gevey sim and a bought a prepaid sim card while he was there (don't know which company he used). Apparently data is cheap in China.

data is cheap but 2g :alone:

funny thing is I bought a 1 card 2 number sim from HK; used data in beijing and it allowed me to go on facebook, youtube and apple daily :lawl:
