So they completely scrapped the previous "RO2" and made this new one. It's basically Ragnarok Online 3.

Anyone playing? It's still in open beta right now and aside from some lag issues and constant server updates/maintenance, it's been a pretty fun game to play.

It's an open world MMORPG, cartoon-ey, and uses a skill-based system of play.

RO2 did suck.

I miss RO1. I tested alpha and beta. Payed for 1 month of real after that. Super fun game. Had to play on fake cheater servers just to ruin it and kill off the addiction.

It's pretty fun, I beta tested the first RO as well and always played archer/hunter and thief/assasin as my mains. This new RO is a lot different though, a lot of nostalgic monsters and characters reappear and the dungeons are pretty fun.

The problems are: random disconnects, lag issues? (not me personally, but friends) and 85% of people are fobby players from Southeast Asia area haha. Lots of Malaysians, Singaporians, etc. Not really a problem, but the broken English is pretty funny actually.

Just started a swordsman. The tutorial part of this game seems to go on forever. I just want to grind and explore.

^Not quite the same without 2d sprites. Really, they should have went with 2d sprites again!

One thing that they kept consistent was the attacks with numbers popping up. I don't know why, but it makes the game so much more enjoyable.

I remember playing on a private server (after you had to start paying to play on the official) with a huntress (I'm not a girl, just a perv) and pwning ass with a doppelganger card doing 1000+ per shot.

i didnt know what life meant because of RO. spent SOOO many countless hours playing with friends. RO's the reason i always start with an archer class... scared to start this because i may relive my gr.9 years again..

Must...not...SO many memories back in HS. I rocked a Lord Knight using damage reflect shields and cards. I was causing people using high-damage attacks (ie. Asura Strike) to kill themselves attacking me while I sat there all :awwyeah:.

FUUU, I still have a Private Server client on my laptop for RO that I jump on from time to time to see if the server is still alive... Spent pretty much all of highschool playing on the side. Met some awesome people from it at least.

I hate how this game has main quests which are dungeon ones. Sometimes it takes so long just to get a party going because no healer or whatever. Those quests should be a side quest stead... /rant

But overall the game is not bad aside from the crazy lag I get around nighttime lol

Where are you at now? I'm in Jormungand 35/37 Ranger - Artisan in Maple Town area. The lame thing is your bag gets full really quick and you never know what to get rid of. Also some of the quests start getting ridiculously hard without a party.

I always try to stay in the most populated chances so I can hop from party to party to finish quests faster.

^ Yeah, Xenophase is based out of Vancouver, pretty much the only server I've played. I come back to it every once in a while. I'm thinking about checking out RO2 though after midterms to see if I want to actually play it or not.

I had so much nostalgia for RO that I downloaded and played a bit of RO2.

The game is pretty disappointing and I'm not really surprised. Feels like any other random MMO. Which is a good thing for me as getting sucked into an online game now is not a good idea.

Overall the game isn't really that great... Card system is lacking, lots of bugs, and mostly boring dungeons. I think there's a lot of room for improvement if they listen to what the players want instead of trying to suck as much money out through paid services. With that being said I still play a bit everyday and managed to get my ranger to level 48 lol.

As much as I liked RO1, this one isn't worth my time... server is laggy, game doesn't flow too well, BORING, got better games to play... I rather sink time back into WoW or RO1!!!
