i was wondering why i cant connect to wifi with my psvita at home. it is failing to obtain the ip address. i can connect to wifi at outside places like starbucks. it says "it could not connect to the cces point. the security method may not be correct. (NW-3153-2). how do i fix this? please and thanks

It depends on how you setup your wireless router. can you connect using other devices? Do you have it set to WPA2 with some sort of security key? etc.

yeah my other devices can connect to it. all my phones and other computers can connect. yeah its set to WPA2 with a security key

Depending on your router, "access control" may be enabled. With this setting, only devices that have been connected previously and had their MAC address stored are allowed to connect. Go through your wifi settings and make sure an option with a function like this isn't enabled. On a Netgear router, you'll find it under Wireless Settings -> Access Control. Also make sure you haven't run out of IP addresses, in case you shrunk your allowed range for any reason.
Along with my WPA2-PSK password protection, I keep Access Control enabled as well so even if a new device has the correct password, it cannot connect to my network without me adding it to the router's list.

I had issues with my DS and I remember doing 2 things. Changing the channel to something else and manually copying the dns settings (change the IP) from a connected device and typing those in.

how do i change my access control on a normal router? say telus type
