I own a small company that mainly does contracting work and Im looking for a new way to manage invoicing and inventory. I don't invoice out a lot, usually around 30 invoices a month and my inventory isnt that big either.

Am currently doing manual invoicing but Id like a better way to do it as manual leads to occasional errors and then leads to a ton of work at the end of the year.

I don't need bloated business management software, just something to create a small inventory, invoicing, and track sales and payments. And that I can export out to my accountant.

I've worked with a few small companies and for your purposes I personally liked working on Quickbooks. Very user friendly and I believe there's a web based offering that's about $15 a month. Haven't had any experience with that but the desktop versions are easy enough.

I've also heard of people using Freshbooks which is free? Seems to be well reviewed so it's probably worth checking out.

I started and learned on Simply but now that I use Quickbooks I probably would have started here. The basic version should be enough to accomplish what you need.

Use Chrome as your internet browser, and pick up some free Chrome web apps. Try out the ones appeal to you, there's a lot out there.

Both quickbooks and sage50 will meet ur needs. Both can be exported to ur accountant easily. I would say quickbooks has better reporting functions that can help u gauge how ur business is doing.
