All auto v6 accords have problems so just buyer beware

i was in the same boat as you with my 07 v6 auto (from a family acquaintance). i was a little concerned but figured it was lightly driven by an older person as well i went ahead and got it. i notice even on slight inclines taking it out of park i roll quite a bit which i wasn't expecting. other than that it's been good. i did take in to account cost of tranny repairs when i was deciding whether to buy or not in case something were to go south

my aunt has an auto hybrid 2005 accord and it's been perfectly fine

GLOW, my 07 V6 auto also has a strange amount of rollback...so you're not alone haha. The car also has some computer software thing that makes the tranny shift byself going up and down hills; i thought it was something wrong at first but it's just the way the software is set up.

The 6th generation (98~02) auto trannies were the worst, but the one I had went strong for 240xxx km...so it's not as terrible as they make it to be. They have improved vastly.

The car itself isn't without small flaws (look up glovebox rattle haha) but if it has been well maintained and not ragged on, you shouldn't have a problem.

is there any reason for that other than doing it's best impersonation of a manual?

Apparently the 4th syncro is set to engage about 1 second after you shift gear so the car is essentially in neutral until the transmission fluid is sent through the yeah i have no idea why.

Thanks for the inputs. I'll see how the price goes. I'm just really worried, and it seems like I'm buying a ticking time bomb(stupid?).

if i recall correctly like others have mentioned it was the older gen
Newer gen (one you're looking into buying and one I own) has a problem with second gear in the autos -- that said mine just rolled over ~200K and it's still strong.

There is a problem with the power steering pump on these though. See if there's a groaning sound from the power steering. It's a simple 5 minute fix (replacing an o-ring) ... other than that all I've really dealt with is oil changes
