always said they should make a Sony Vaio smartphone along their Z line and looks like they did but kept the phone naming of Xperia
very cool, shame about the camera although it'll probably be as good/hopefully better than the iphones cam
sweet
wonder how HTCs One (m7) will stack up against it
edit: didnt know it was out to bloggers
will have to look for some camera reviews, i wonder how it stacks up against the Nokia N8 (12mpx)
edit2: camera samples so far are depressing (can't even beat a soon to be 3yr old cameraphone )
Really? what camera test were u looking at? The reviews I read on the camera were decent.... while not as good as say the iphone 5 camera but still pretty favourable.
Ya, that's pretty much my criteria for my next phone purchase. (either android or z10, I will not be buying another apple)
My Sony Xperia Arc was ok for a while, but I'm not sure if all of the dust and such made it slower or maybe it was a slow phone to begin with. The speaker during phone calls is starting to sound distorted. Pretty phone, thin phone, strong phone, but not fast. (and no cases!!!!) 2 years old and thinking of the next purchase.
Damn, that first video makes it look sleek! Still like the xperia t more though. The z doesnt have any curves and the 5" display is a turn off for me.
Hopefully, Sony's got their sh*t together now after the ericsson aquisition and a year of transition. I've always liked their hardware, but the software side was always hit or miss.
I'm stuck between the HTC One and this. I couldn't care less about benchmarks since in real-world usage you won't be able to tell speed differences.
It's a shame I'm the kind of person to protect all my electronics with screen protectors and bumpers or cases So accessory aesthetics matter more to me than the actual phone haha.

I like the design of xperia z:thin with big screen. Dust and water resistant make me no worries because I always hold the phone without case or bag . But too bad there is no LET Posted via RS Mobile
Been using the phone for about a month now. Here's my small review on it.
I am using the C6603 (UK version) on Fido and LTE is enabled.
Hardware:
Although the Sony uses a previous chipset (Snapdragon S4 Pro) it is by no mean slow at all. I have yet to experience any lags going through the system.
For Benchmarks, it can't beat the new HTC One and Galaxy S4. However, I am not big on benchmarks scores because I don't play games or do any intensive things on the phone to notice the differences in speed. So for everyday normal use (phone, text, social media etc..) the phone is snappy.
The Water proofing and dust proofing is a good feature but the downside is that all the ports are covered with a flap (ie: Sim card slot, usb port and headphone jack port). At first I thought the flap would break easily but the soft rubber material Sony used to hold the flap feels quite durable in my opinion.
The screen is nice by itself (Not comparing with other 5" 1080p), it is nicer if you pull the shatter proof film off the phone. Many people complaint about the viewing angle of the phone but to my it isn't an issue because I use the phone face on 99% of the time. The only time I look at the screen from an angle is when it is on a table and I check the screen for notification.
Speaking of notification, there is a notification light at the upper right corner of the phone. However, notification light gets disable if you should Stamina Mode.
Software:
The features that Sony puts on top of the pure Google just enhances the Google experience while maintaining the Google feel unlike other manufacturers where Android OS is close to unrecognizable.
Stamina Mode in the System Preference makes a huge differences in battery. If I turn the mode off the battery would last me about 10 hours or so with moderate use (30 to 1 hour phone call and 1 to 2 hours of screen on.
When the Stamina mode is turned ON. the battery can last me through the day no problem. 6:30AM unplug at 100% with 1 to 2 hours browsing and whatsapp and 1.5 hours of talk on the phone. The phone would have about 70 to 65% left at 6PM.
I think I rather wait for it to come here. Not even sure I will buy it... but who knows ;p I'll see how much the price drops in a few months and what other options are out there at that time.
