Anybody picked one up? I just finished downloading my copy off Steam, pretty stoked to play it soon :fullofwin: A refreshing reboot, and it's a new interesting take on the franchise since I played the very first one almost ten years ago

Does the game have a lot of Quick Time Events? QTE's ruined the recent Resident Evil games.
A lot of what happens in this Conan video is QTE's....

bahaha and if you're doing target practice he carries a target and wears a helmet in TR3
I remember all the time I spent trying to sprint to the secret quad area in the mansion :fuuuuu:
I played through the main story on X360 already and from start to finish it was a pretty good and intense game, if you love Uncharted then you will most likely love this game. Very similar gameplay but with a much better looking main character to look at :). Upgrade system is pretty basic but diverse enough. Graphics look very nice and story was well written and pretty good IMO. The controls scheme to me was good and suited the game. I have not tried multiplayer so I cannot comment on it.

TOO MANY FUCKING QUICKTIME SCENES
It's especially bad on PC, where the icon for "F" looks almost exactly like the icon for "E". Both are red, but one has a hand on it.
It's pretty fun so far other than that. Like a goofy old school game with nice graphics. It's not trying too hard to be special or clever, the developers knew what they were doing here.

Finished the story playing on and off for the better part of 3 days. Highly recommended. I'm not overly sensitive when it comes to video games but there were a few scenes that were very uncomfortable to look at such as that one death sequence shown in the Conan O'Brien video.

I hate how the camera snaps back to center, I am always fighting it with my mouse. As an old school FPS gamer, I almost always run diagonally... but you can't do that here, because the camera tries to turn to the direction you run.
It would be so easy to have a setting to prevent this, that's the most annoying part.

TOO MANY FUCKING QUICKTIME SCENES
This is the response I was dreading. Oh well...since it's mainly a single player game maybe i'll wait until its cheap 6 months from now.

Not really that many. Lots of the preview videos for this game exaggerate the amount. They're moreso right in the beginning and at the very end of the game.

Yeah there's not THAT many. But when I do come across them, I want to just quit playing if I fail it more than once.

What's a "quicktime" scene??

i dont mind QTE unless they put in a lot and also sneak it into cutscenes (new resident evil series) or require you to spam a button at 100rpm to count.
Also...QTE on keyboard is pretty stupid.

What's a "quicktime" scene??
a quick time event (QTE) is a method of context-sensitive gameplay in which the player performs actions on the control device shortly after the appearance of an on-screen prompt. It allows for limited control of the game character during cut scenes or cinematic sequences in the game. Performing the prompted action improperly or not at all results in the character's failure at their task and often in an immediate game over.

Just started Tomb Raider last night.
Not a good game to play before going to bed.
What an adrenalin rush...

Just finished it a couple hours ago. A real solid game, but I do agree that it is a bit heavy on the QTEs. Good plot and very well laid out, and the 'executions' you can make with weapons is pretty damn awesome

quick question, r the qte ALWAYS the same buttons?, ex: when shit happens to laura its always the triangle button?

No, there are two action buttons, so it's not as bas as God of War and some other games. Also you do a lot of left-right mashing.

Just beat the game....great great game!!!
Now, I just hope there is a "Secret Costume".............that will show all the "Details".
This will truly release the beauty of the game.
I know you guys want it too.
