Hey guys,
I had a discussion with a buddy of mine about games, more specifically, games that get refreshed every year.
I am an FPS player primarily, sports games are my second favorite to play. Each year I buy the newest versions of all the games I play. My buddy is primarily a sports game fan, and he also has the odd FPS. He will buy new versions of sports games he plays every year and updates his FPS titles every other or three years it seems.
He mentioned how it seems dumb I will get the newest version of Call of Duty as soon as they come out, but doesn't see how I compare that to buying the newest version of NHL or MLB every year. Thing is with Call of Duty is that each year it is made from a different developer, where as the sports games he buys are all EA for NHL & FIFA and 2K for MLB.
I think anyone that doesn't fully commit to a certain type of game will not get the little intricacies that make the changes actually seem big.
What do you guys do? Do you rush out to get the newest Assassin's Creed / Call of Duty / (Insert license here) Lego game / Any new season for a sports game? Or do you play one for a couple or more 'seasons' before getting a new one?
