BF3 was supposedly only using 40% of the Frostbite 2.0 engine...but I'm surprised how good this looks...aside from particle effects, water caustics and shadow this is definitely comparable to Crysis 3. You can tell they tweaked the facial models.

While Frostbite deals with procedural animation, character animations and other scripted events are still done via ANT since BF3(in-house EA animation engine first used by FIFA).

I like the how they took the NFS driving systems and put it into the single player campaign. They're really able to flex their muscles now with FB 3.0

I've never played metro 2033 so I can't compare the two.

BF3 on Ultra settings I average 70FPS on stock speeds (EVGA gtx670 ftw).

once you turn off DoF and MSAA, very high runs somewhat close to BF3 on ultra
i forced FXAA in nV CP
with a pair of 670 FTWs overclocked i was avg'ing 50fps in the benchmark...but keep in mind i run at 6kx1080

Just played 2 rounds of the beta despite of tomorrow's exam.

Best part was some guy ran in my face to knife me, it gave me an option of pressing F to counter knife. Flipped the knife backwards and pushed it back in his chest.

Was so satisfied that I closed the game.

graphics are pretty good for beta. game pace is faster than bf3 (similar to cod), maybe because it's domination. gun customization menus looks like a cluster fuk of text.. terrible. can't wait for the actual game to come out in a few weeks.

Play a few hours on PC beta, Conquest

The guns feels different than Battlefield 3. Feel less "arcade". (Could be the type of guns)
Tank and vehicles plays fairly the same.
Tank can go over cars and stuff more smoothly.
Flew the helicopter few times. They seems to be a bit heavier or have less power.

Game HUD is nice, customization UI is really messy.

Overall, the game still plays like Battlefield 3 with tons of new features + improved graphic.

I personally wouldn't get it until they come out with the big premium bundle (Original game + all expansion) and get screw by EA.

anyone experiencing glitches, crashes, etc ? on PC.... ive troubleshot every single thing and still problems...

in multiplayer I got all my graphic settings maxed out and v-synced to 60fps and I'm still seeing on some maps structures and even buildings popping in out of nowhere, as if my draw distance is set to low or something.... and there isn't even a graphic setting for draw distance anyway ?
It's difficult to play when objects don't appear from a certain distance, even enemies possibly...... I think I remember this from BF 3 as well, but not sure, I never played that game all that much

in single player my 6th mission it crashes, i cant get to the 7th mission, soon as I load it up the cutscene starts and it crashes every single time....

I haven't noticed a significant increase in Graphics over BF3 and I still notice parts of the map don't show up if you haven't looked in that direction in a while and even I walk up to fences that don't appear until I knife them to get through. I assume this is to keep the Cache down on the system to run more smoothly? I find it very annoying as I like to run Recon and it make's it difficult to see textures of landscape and building and players while scoped at long distances say 900m +

Side Note: Longest Headshot - 1234m on Hainan Resort playing Rush with the Intervention, 40x Scope & Muzzle Brake

Just upgraded my GTX670 to a HD7990 yesterday because I thought my GTX670 couldn't handle bf4 anymore. It was stuttering and FPS dropped to 20FPS no matter what setting I was at.

Ended up being my CPU overheating and throttling like crazy because of dried of thermal paste, found out when I put in the 7990 and it did the same thing. Never thought my CPU would overheat. But apparently thermal paste matters a lot. Went from 60C idle 99C load to 29C idle and 60C load.

So... spent half a grand on a video card that I didn't need. Atleast now I can play maxed out @ 1080p w/ 175% resolution scale.


Specs: i7 2700k @ 5ghz, 16gb, SSD RAID0, HD7990 DEVIL13


**Not sure if it has been mentioned here yet but resolution scale is what makes the game look next-gen. Turn off AA and FXAA, turn up resolution scale and you'll feel like you're playing Battlefield 6.**

i have premium and honestly, it's not really worth it. these expansion packs do so little to the game, pretty much just new maps.

It is pretty sad seeing so many people being level 100 already.

There are also a lot more hackers in bf4 than in bf3, or maybe i'm just starting to become a noob due to age. Pretty sure a rifle can't shoot through an entire mountain with a ton of walls in between though.

Picked up a copy for PS3 for cheap the other day. I've only gone through the campaign and played a couple of online rounds, but so far I'm not entirely impressed. Maybe once I pick up a PS4 and download the free copy I'll think better of it, but every time I turn it on, I'm forced to download yet another patch.

Bought it with a GC when it was on sale during Black Friday. Only paid a couple dollars on top of my GC for it. Honestly, at least on the PS3, it feels more like a BF3 expansion than an all new game.

ps4 digital upgrade is not free, its $10

Just got game. Haven't been able to connect to ea servers to go online..yet I can play FIFA online no problem. On ps4.

i wasnt able to connect when they released that patch on first week of dec for ps4..

then the new patch came out last week and havent had a problem since.. its wierd because it was the other way around for my buddy.. cant connect at all after the newest patch

Just upgraded my GTX670 to a HD7990 yesterday because I thought my GTX670 couldn't handle bf4 anymore. It was stuttering and FPS dropped to 20FPS no matter what setting I was at.

Ended up being my CPU overheating and throttling like crazy because of dried of thermal paste, found out when I put in the 7990 and it did the same thing. Never thought my CPU would overheat. But apparently thermal paste matters a lot. Went from 60C idle 99C load to 29C idle and 60C load.

So... spent half a grand on a video card that I didn't need. Atleast now I can play maxed out @ 1080p w/ 175% resolution scale.


Specs: i7 2700k @ 5ghz, 16gb, SSD RAID0, HD7990 DEVIL13


**Not sure if it has been mentioned here yet but resolution scale is what makes the game look next-gen. Turn off AA and FXAA, turn up resolution scale and you'll feel like you're playing Battlefield 6.**

in video settings, which one is AA and FXAA? there are a few and one that says HBAO. I got c2q q8200 2.3ghz 7870 radeon at about 50-70 ultra depending on maps, is that good ? i was expecting bottle neck with such specs.

you only unlock them at the very end and will have to redo the last mission a few times to get them.
