What's a good store-bought Chinese Chili Oil? Preferably from T&T.

Currently using the above, not really a fan, dislike the peanuts, doesn't taste that great and it's not spicy enough even with a tablespoonful. What I am looking for is a product that resembles closer to what you would find at a HK cafe/Viet restaurant.

next time you go to a chinese cafe, you should ask them which brand they use.

I would assume that most restaurants would make it themselves.

maybe you should do the same. it will probably be better since you can tweak it to your taste

I use a brand called Chiu Chow Chili Oil. You can find at TNT and its got like a pink label on it. Sorry I'm too lazy to go to my fridge and check the brand =P

It's good though! give it a try

I buy the same brand, but their other sauce.
It's more crushed. No peanuts?

^ what he said. Same brand.
It shouldn't have peanuts and it's more spicy than that pic you showed.

the vietnamese one is called sate sauce. You can make a ton at home and store away.

a lot of the Chinese resturants will sell their homemade stuff. Next time you are at a place just ask and they normally have a jar.

I believe Chiu Chow Chili Oil is only a type of chili oil. I use lee kum kee's chiu chow chili oil

you can find it at TnT. Pretty good, no as good as some restaurants (which make it themselveS) but its satisfactory!
