Hey guys, does anybody know where I could get my hands on a steel ring for an outdoor fire pit? If I could find a square shaped one that would be ideal.

Not building it in Burnaby. But Canadian Tire & Lowes only seem to have those portable type fire pits with the legs and such. I'm looking to find the steel ring/square insert to actually build a fire pit with blocks.

Found one at Home Depot in the states on the weekend, but really looking for a square/rectangle. Much rather keep my money local.

I think the interior dimension is going to work out to a 28" x 28" square. I'm gonna pick up the blocks next week (long weekend) and i'll be able to measure what the interior size will be for sure.

Once i figure that out maybe i'll hit you up, definitely appreciate the offer, will help things along in a big way.

i use an old dryer drum, its perforated

yeah, go to SNU and pickup an old dryer drum, last time i did that they only wanted 20$ for the whole drum, or go to pick a part and find a nice steel wheel off a truck or something, they work good too

Did you plan/prepare an opening for air intake?

I did leave a couple of stones in the lower levels without any masonry glue on them in case I needed to pop them out for air, but the fire sits high enough that it hasn't been an issue. Also, cause it's residential I don't want any large fires, just some small modest, having a couple cold ones type of thing.

And the beers are cold and folding chairs are at hand. I've actually been thinking about getting some tree stumps (buddy is building a new house and they have stumps on the property) and turning them into stools.
