We need a third round of RS hockey!

Mixed opinions on the location so let's here what everyone's opinion is.

Personally i like Hillcrest Arena. The facility is new and the ice is a bit soft but pretty good.

Before people start saying they want to play i want to hear opinions on different things so i can phone around and book a time that the majority agree's on.

There is not much at 8 Rinks right now for bookings during the week.
Best time i found was a Sunday night at 10pm-11:15pm on June 23rd

If remember correctly they still have two rinks down for maintenance so the other 4 rinks are pretty busy.

Bill Copeland is going to call me back about rentals. But i do not know if they remove the ice after the winter season.

What about the valley?
We have 5 rinks in Langley, and 11 ice surfaces. Two of which are right off the highway. There's also GPF in delta, just off the Alex Fraser bridge. I know it's nice to get an ice time near where you live, but the lack of ice surface and 11pm ice times is going to push people away rather than bring them together.

You can get 1.5hrs of ice @ 8pm at Sportsplex in Langley for $190, and that's with a week's notice. Makes it a lot easier to get guys to come out when the cost is only $10 and it's at a reasonable hour.

just my opinion, cause I want to see this happen.

Did you guys rotate goalies?
During scrimmages, we play to 5, and it's a good way to mix up the shots. If one team is stronger than the other, it's not all on one goalie's back. Both get a change to take good shots, and the players appreciate shooting on a different goalie.

Sounds like it was a good night. It even featured a stitch worthy injury!

the teams weren't that bad. kristian and his buddy were carrying the white team. jgresch thinks hes playing ball hockey with all his puck flip moves on the d :D. I think it was more the fact that me and my buddies have played together for years so it was a chemistry thing.

That's the thing. We only had 2 of them and you guys had way more guys with "chemistry"

You don't really need chemistry with someone to play better even tho it helps of course. It's all about the hockey sense and passing and cycling the puck to open the ice up and set up a nice pass then shot.

Position is key and if you aint playing it correctly of course your team's chemistry won't be what it should be.

Chemistry is massive. Ever play against a team of 40 year olds who have played 20 years together? Tape to tape everywhere, making everyone else skate. Knowing where the other 4 guys on the ice are going to be helps A LOT.

at least we had no penalties this game, so we got free nachos apres game. all in all, it was a good season. bring on the playoffs.
