im in china right now & im doing quite ok with censorship crap, but some times it gets on my nerves alot (like pretty much a lot like when rs dont load)

i know a few ppl that can use facebook on mobile data in china by getting a VPN, which i heard is a code that u must enter monthly

im not quite sure how it quite works & how safe is it, will it cause any kind of damage to my phone/network

thanks

If you're a UBC student, you can log onto their VPN and surf the web as if you're in here in BC. You may also subscript to VPN providers for a monthly fee where you're able to pick a country that your network is based.

VPN is essentially a point to point connection where you can link up to a network via encryptions and/or a dedicated connection. It's as if you're logging onto a router but not actually being in the same vicinity of the WiFi connection.

But let's be honest...

You're looking to stream porn but all them good sites are blocked.

Get a service like hidemyass, it's about $11/month but it's one of the best.

actually i use it for work as china makes life pain in the ass for google (i have to wait 30 secs to reload google if i press a ban website)

also im wonder how those websites work & is there a yearly payment

ps: some good mobile porn works in china, no need for VPN as i watch it all the time (i have recommended so many of those sites to local mainlanders)

With all the recent privacy scandals in the US. I strongly recommend a VPN that emphasizes on user privacy and does not withhold any data log. I recommend Astrill and PrivateInternetAccess.

https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/
https://www.astrill.com/

PrivateInternetAccess Speedtest: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/network/#

I recommend PrivateInternetAccess as it's only $7 per month or $40 per year.

Basically when u connect to a VPN, all of your incoming and outgoing data to and from your computer is encrypted going to the VPN server. From the VPN server going to the destination, that point of contact is unencrypted, so all of the servers/computers/users on the other end will only see your VPN IP address, and not yours.

Cheers!
