Does Asus transformer tab TF300, or TF700 get regular google android updates like the NExus 10 does?

I know Samsung doesn't update software because they have their own skinned android version on it.

Obviously I am a noob with android tablets, I use playbook, but I am looking to expand my options

Not sure about tf300/700 but my tf101 got updates until Jelly Bean came out.

The updates come from ASUS. So they're not gonna be anywhere near as timely nor as frequent as the ones from Google. That being said ASUS has a decent record for updating old devices with newer versions but their timeframe isn't so good.

my mom has the TF300, just as Mikroft said, Asus releases the updates, unless you use a custom rom..

My TF300T is on Android 4.2.1 at the moment. Stock Asus.

It's been on 4.2.1 for quite some time, in fact. Quite literally receives updates almost as fast as my Nexus 4.

Asus is good about their support, especially compared to other members of the AHA.

Nope. They tweak it a bit so it's not but it's pretty close.
