They say this set is from Detroit, looks like it's going to be a fake Hong Kong with red MX83 Toyota Cressida taxi's. Since we don't get the Toyota Crown here, I think they totally chose the right model for this scene as both the MX83 and 8th gen Crown look pretty similar.

I honestly only liked the first one. To see it premiere night with a packed house and people cheering during each "transformation" process and sounds was insanely epic. I almost cried. But the second and third installments I found to be huge piles of garbage. Perhaps the novelty wore off and then realized I was stuck with Shia leGoof and toe thumb chick.

I hope the new cast and new story will offer a fresh view on the franchise but I'm not holding my breath.

it was good, saw it on the weekend at the Langley IMAX. never expected alot of storyline, but it did well enough. the 3d and graphics were good. fight scenes were good.. but I never went into it having high expectations.. but it sure felt long, definitely could have been shorter and had more action with the dino bots... blonde girl was smokin hot but looked alot younger, I guess appropriate for the role she played.

I thought the beginning actually started out okay...
but the later part of the film and the story as a whole was one confusing, incoherent, clusterfucking mess..

A lot of scenes made no sense.... (FYI Beijing is not beside HK)
the story was never explained properly...(if there is even a story)
the other transformers are not really likeable....

Nothing after or mid credits. Which is weird cause in all the other Transformer movies Bay did put something there. I'm assuming because he has said this was his last Transformers movie. It also would sway the next movie in the director of the after credits scene which wouldn't be fair for the new director.

I can't explain how bad this movie is.

What I CAN say though is that because of the Chinese investment this movie is ruined. For example, the HK scenes are terrible i.e. simplified Chinese billboards, a MONORAIL in Downtown Hong Kong. Also, when the guy was drinking a redbull in the states, Texas presumably, it had Simplified Chinese on it.

Watching a fireworks at English Bay would have a stronger plot than this steaming pile of explosive CG!
The dialogue was cringe-worthy to the max, the one-liners that were supposed to be funny made me groan.

Finally got around to watching this movie. Honestly, I can't say much other than that it was an overly long (by 1.5 hours), typical Michael Bay production. Lots of explosions, lots of girls in tight clothes and not much more.

One positive thing I'll say is that Mark Wahlberg is a much, much better actor than Shia Lebeuf. Kelsey Grammer and Stanley Tucci were both surprisingly decent choices as well. Not that it did much, but these three added at least a tiny bit of legitimate acting into the movie.

But my god... that was an insanely long movie, which could easily have been cut down to under two hours in the editing room. And, yet, there was hardly any Grimlock et al in the final cut. But I suppose Lockdown made up for it.

Not going to rate it as it was just that terrible. I suppose it's a good mindless action flick but even as one it overextended it's stay by far too long. At some point I'd like to see Michael Bay get back to the movie style he used to make back in the 90's - while they're still mindless action movies, at least ones like The Rock and Bad Boys 1 & 2 had some legitimate character development and not as out of this world action scenes.

I'd like to point out I went to the movie with three kids who are huge modern Transformers fans and even they were all going "WTF" at this movie. Pretty sure this one managed to alienate them from the series...


Side note: Transformers 4 is more Fast and Furious than Furious 6 was... :lol
