I realize these posts come up a lot. I'm not a 16 year old looking for a first car. After numerous discussions with my car guy friends about what car to get next, I've come to a point where I've run out of fun cars I get super excited over to a point where I have to own/drive/try it. Talk about first world problems. Throw some ideas around. Thanks guys.

Here are my basic requirements:
-rwd or rear based awd
-manual
-no sunroof, no targa, no convertible
-not a boat, ideally between 1000-1500kg
-no rust
-no solid axle
-LSD must, clutch type preferred, ok with torsen, settle with viscous
-a/c, heat
-electric windows
-central lock
-abs
-seats 4 ok
-2 dr, 4 dr, or wagon
-na or boosted
-250 hp and up

Sorry, no suggestions. Everything I can think of either falls outside your price range or requirement list...

Edit: Fiero GT?

Good luck with maintenance on the FD RX-7. As nice a driver's car as that may be, reliability is not a strong suit for that car, especially when even the newest example of those are already 10+ years old. On the other hand, since you haven't tried a rotrary yet, I would suggest giving a late model RX-8 some thoughts. The car is loads of fun and sufficiently reliable if you stick to the later model years.

Would agree with an X100 Chaser or R34 GT-T. I would say JDM GC8 STi ver.6 or Mitsubishi Legnum/Galant VR4, but I think both fail to meet some of the criteria.

Probably don't meet all your criteria, but I've always thought a Lotus Elise would be a fun little car to rip around in. Not fun to get in or out of, but fun once you're in it..

Thanks guys for the input. Keep them coming. I actually love the cappuccino and previa. But it didn't make the cut because of availability. It's impossible to find a cap or a supercharged previa 5 speed. Been looking a C6 vettes as well but I need a 4 seater. Also why I'm only looking at JDM FD with the optional dog seats. As much as I want a Chaser, I refuse to buy a JDM car sight unseen. No one locally has one for sale that isn't a thrashed ex-drift car. E46 M3 seems to fit best but my sister is planning on picking one up in a year or so. It would be silly to have the same car. I can just hoon her car.

Genuine question, but if you haven't been satisfied by any of your previous cars, what makes you think a new one that is already extremely similar to 90% of your previous cars will fill that void?

I am not trying to be a smart ass. But maybe if you are getting another super similar car, it's time to try something completely different? Maybe it will fill your void.

Also, save up more money and import a Sierra cosworth or sapphire cosworth? Big turbo 2.0L fast fords might be your answer.

An FD Rx7 is an extremely fun car. If you keep them well under 400whp, they actually are quite reliable as long as you watch things closely and maintain them. When my large single turbo FD was over 450, things started to go boom. Over 550, they really liked to go boom, but it was fun as hell!
If you do get an FD, I'd really look into the legality of the back seat. It is not bolted in at all, just glued. I personally wouldn't put my kids in the back, but to each their own :). The other thing with the back seats is that, as soon as you are more than 2ft tall, you really have to cram in there. My wife is around 5ft1, we had the front passenger seat moved all the way forward, and her knees were against her face being in the back seat, lol

yeah I would suggest different cars if I thought he never owned a 2 tone AE86 lol

I know its not RWD but ITR might be a car you could get excited about. Fairly reliable and parts are not hard to find/relatively cheap.

Perhaps a good FWD is what you need to take you out of the "Must have RWD" mentality. I feel it's the same way most people are about Automatics, people drive so many shitty/boring automatic gearboxes and shun what the manufacturers are coming out with nowadays that are actually a lot of fun.

Genesis coupe gt might also fit your description and there are a few under 20k. Car is a little heavy but its not a bad drive.

I've been seriously considering this Z06 vette... just haven't convinced myself that I want it yet. I've spoken to the owner, he doesn't have the stock wheels which is a bit of a shame.
