Also I picked up at least 10 to the wheels and a lot of tork. Something you HonDUH boys don't know about.

That isn't me in the video I am busy studying to become a doctor.

OP, in case you're 16 or haven't hit puberty yet, throwing around meaningless power figures and trying to be cool by saying things like "tork" and "shit kit" won't get you any of the respect you yearn for. Just my two cents. You own a slow car, face it. There's nothing wrong with owning a slow car at all, but when you're trying to justify how fast your slow car is, all you're doing is making yourself look like a fool.

With all due respect, a foxbody 5L swap, still won't be that interesting.

I appreciate the 318 is a relatively light car, but your average sedan nowadays has 300+hp, 250+ ft-lb torque, and with it being an auto (unless it's an aftermarket set up), that will be a bit of a k9, relative to new cars.

I love people who do projects like this, as it will surprise some people... But coming on here and being a douche about it just makes you look like a prat.

can't wait for you to try and egg me on to race... Then... We... Can... Drive like responsible adults because street racing is beneath Neanderthal level.

The 302 block can last a couple seasons over 600+ rwhp, or it can blow up on your first pass at 400 rwhp(or less) with a shitty tune. On Mustang forums you'll read about people cranking out passes in the high 9's at 135 mph-ish on the stock shortblock, but at those power levels it is just a matter of when it will blow, not if.

A mexican block 302 or a Dart block are good for far more power. Really with the SBF(Small block Ford) the limits are only as far as your wallet takes you! 8 seconds at over 160 mph street driven? I just want something fun to drive on dates and to the Wendy's drive-thru at Cambie and Broadway at 3 AM.

I kind of want to keep the car mild power-wise until I learn to drive it and get a decent suspension under it.

I've never driven a stock, auto 4 cylinder 318i. If a Miata can beat it, damn is that shit sloooooow. I drove a girl's 1994 or so blue Miata a couple years ago, sure it handled well but the car had a hard time out-accelerating the 99 B-line.

You say that as if you don't need a sharp mind to complete a project. I bought the car half-finished, most people would be extremely unwise to buy someone else's mystery project. Trust me, I know all-too-well how much a hidden problem can cost you in the long run. After my Supra got crashed by my friend, the timing had a very hard problem to diagnose. Something was fucked and it took swapping out of countless parts to fix!

This is a very simple package though. It also has a complete, 150 page swap manual with diagrams and a ton of info. The E36 isn't a black box nightmare and the wiring mates up easily with the Ford's wiring harness. The exhaust is a ghetto header-forward design but even backyard welders were able to fabricate their exhaust systems. The radiator is out of a '94 Thunderbird, the slave cylinder from an '81 280ZX, it already had a custom driveshaft made for it as well. Knowing all of this, and weighing whether or not I felt it could be completed on a tight budget, is part of the fun. I just think it is SO cool that this car is a mish-mash of parts with nearly endless upgradability. How much fun could I have if I ran it supercharged one year, turbo'ed the next, and then maybe the year after that run a nitrous fogger kit?

If I had a garage I'd do most of my own work!

BMW forums all say that 0-60 time for an e36 4 door auto is 9.8. Much more than your stock 7.5 like u said or your "modded" low 6. Low six 0-60 times aren't that easy to hit in normal everyday cars especially 318 bummers. My bro has a 325 with an exhaust and there's no way it hits 0-60 in low six seconds. Look at the cars that from the factory have low six 0-60 times and look at the hp on them and the weight and something just won't seem right with your times.

Lose the iPhone app man it obviously doesn't work.

Neither do u. A stock sti doesn't have 250 whp... A USDM e36 m3 doesn't either. Go to an actual Dyno and prove the talk with a Dyno slip and shut us all up. Stock 318 has 143 hp according to BMW. And believe me. That's at the crank. Expect to lose at least 15 percent of that by the time it hits the wheels.

I have a really awesome room and sneaking girls in is easy so wateva

pok gui

stupid people just do it to themselves, you are proof of this.

and thanks for the stupid Chinese slang, not very impressive.

and, let me teach you something i've learned about QUALITY women (low brow women aren't the type i'm interested in), they will see you in your 318, which is an embarrassment of a car (bmw's failed attempt to join the super cheap crowd) and think, ok it's a BMW at least. (See my comment below re: embarrassment of a car - it's an embarrassment for you, not for a normal 18 year old)

but then it's made worse by likely being a crappy ride b/c it's been messed around with.

so, if you're trying to impress women with your frankencar, first, don't, you'll get retarded women through impressing them with that car, or any car, really, and at that, women usually like luxury, not speed, handling, etc. there are exceptions to this rule, certainly, but generalizing: leather heated seats, all the mod cons, comfortable ride, enough power throughout the band to not ever strain the engine - that'll make a better impression.

now, i only say all of this because clearly you're a fucking idiot and you brought it up. normally, i'd think, good on you, kid, you bought your own car - there's a lot of kudos to working hard, getting an entry level car (i assume you're 17 or so, based on a clear and sad level of immaturity), but given you're a big baller with your sneaking in women into your mum's house, and your stupid attempts to be disrespectful to me in Chinese, well, you get responses like this from me.

I like how half the thread are actual, serious responses.
