Simpsons? Creator Thinks Show Should End - North America - Codewit World News (http://www.codewit.com/north-america/12822-simpsons-creator-thinks-show-should-end)

"I'm surprised The Simpsons is still on TV, frankly. I think we should have ended it years ago," Matt Groening told KBBL-TV in his hometown of Portland, Ore., when asked about the show's 25th season, which premieres Sunday, Sept. 29.

yeah the rednecks that don't have netflix/cable TV/torrents
it's obvious Fox has Groening by the balls if he doesn't watch his own show..they should've pulled the plug 15 years ago.

That's a pretty asinine statement, so generalized.

Do you think Stan Lee still reads Fantastic Four, Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor, X-Men, Daredevil and Avengers?

Bring back Futurama! It's better than what the Simpsons has become.

It's sad that Futurama has been cancelled twice now, and The Simpsons are still going on.

I still find it entertaining to watch actually. Although the jokes are kind of dry now. Grew up watching it so I feel very nostalgic every time

if an artist doesn't have the motivation to view his/her final work...you can probably bet they didn't put their soul/heart into it (as corny as it sounds)

and this is what happens when the networks lock you in on your cash cow after decades of it on the air.

It's still ... okay ... not nearly as good as it used to be. Certainly better than reality shows ...

But, yeah, they should've ended the series a long time ago.

I liked it when there was an actual story each episode now its just stupid puns/jokes every couple seconds with no story most of the time and when there is one its just a badly done rehash of a past epsiode

In the early days, The Simpsons had some very creative writers, infusing subtle, clever jokes into the series. Hints of political satire, metaphors and allegory took light jabs without making it totally obvious to the viewer.

Now? It's all a cheap joke. If I wanted some of that, I'd go to the VLS Relationships and Gender forum.

Time to take this dog out back and put it down:
The Simpsons loses the voice of Ned Flanders, Mr. Burns, and Principal Skinner as Harry Shearer quits | The Verge (http://www.theverge.com/2015/5/14/8604495/harry-shearer-leaves-the-simpsons-no-mr-burns-flanders)

Harry Shearer, the voice of Ned Flanders, Mr. Burns, Principal Skinner, Otto, Smithers, and many more on The Simpsons, has apparently left the show. Shearer used Twitter to indicate that he wouldn't be returning in upcoming seasons of the long, long-running cartoon, suggesting that his desire to work on other projects was the reason for the decision. The actor quoted Simpsons writer and producer James L. Brooks' lawyer, who reportedly said that while the "show will go on, Harry will not be part of it."

Seasons 27 and 28 of The Simpsons are due to enter production soon, but earlier this week, it was reported that Shearer was delaying the process by holding out on signing his contract. It's not yet clear exactly why the show has parted ways with the actor — while Shearer says he wanted "the freedom to do other work," Simpsons voices have always appeared in other shows, movies, and projects. TMZ claims the move may have something to do with merchandising payments, but one thing's for sure: with his departure The Simpsons loses the voice behind some of its biggest, best, and most memorable characters. After a 26-year run, and stripped of one of its greatest voices, maybe it's time to put the poor thing down.

No problem. They've had a contingency plan in place for 15 years!

eKv3UELP9ug

I find it weird though... I've seen YouTube videos of people doing well known voices and some of them are like dead spot-on... I would think there would be at least one person out there that can do Mr Burns, Ned Flanders, and Smithers close enough to not be glaringly different from Shearer...
