Given the size of those helicopters...

It looks like godzilla is bigger than Grouse mountain.

I hope it takes a jab or two at the 1999 version.

i didn't realize the voiceover in the teaser was that of Oppenhemier from the Manhattan Project

after seeing pacific rim, i don't know how this is going to turn out.

it is directed by someone who's only done indies and the cast is full of nobodies with the exception of Ken Watanabe and Bryan Cranston.

it's supposed to be fairly authentic to the japanese versions so I hope it doesn't disappoint

dat godzilla scream...so awesome.

I hope they cast Mathew Broderick just to shoot him in the face for no good reason.

Sweet! Didn't even know Bryan Cranston was in it. Kill Godzilla by feeding it a rock of blue meth weighing a few tons?

Marketing department should've done a fan-made teaser too, similar to old school like this:

Kinda excited.

I have the 1999 VHS somewhere... where the cardboard is holographic.
Also have the 1999 tank, Godzilla baby figure, and kiddy slippers :D
I don't rmb the movie at all though .

They shot most of the giant CGI scenes right by Marine/Boundary.

As Twitchyzero said, i dont remember Godzilla being as big as an island. It could be just the angle and optical illusion but who knows.

still looking forward to seeing this.

just watched the last showing last night and man did that movie take my breath away! call me stupid if you think the movie was lame but i could care less because to me it was epic! It showed just how badass Godzilla is and why he is the king of monsters. The movie was also well done because it kept its roots but also gave it a very realistic feel instead of being a complete fantasy.

I left the theater feeling my money was well worth it.

for those who have seen it:
It was pure epic when godzilla just blasted the female muto a mouthful of atomic breath

Just got back from it

I'm a big Godzilla fan, and I was very disappointed. Grew up on Godzilla, watched about 10 of the older Godzilla movies.

4/10

Not enough fighting. Throughout the entire 2+hour long movie, combined had about 3 minutes of Godzilla fighting.

Would have really liked it if they threw in a remix of the original Godzilla theme, but they didn't

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDeU42u2s2Y&noredirect=1

Really disappointed, considering Godzilla was completely badass in this one

Will need to watch Godzilla vs Destroyah or Godzilla: Final Wars again, to cleanse my brain of this

I wasn't interested at all until you posted that. I don't want to see a bunch of stupid CGI effects and explosions, but the characters look interesting so my interest has gone from 2/10 to maybe 5/10 now :)

Spoilers
Good guy Godzilla POWNED every monster thrown at it. Story was kinda meh. Wish they didnt kill off Bryan Cranston so early and I hoped they would focus more on Godzilla rather than those parasitic fossils. Overall I'd still give it a 7/10 though...

I didn't like the movie, thought it was cliche and predictable. The monsters looked great though!

I thought it was a good movie overall - especially for a remake, it's not bad.

Seeing all the trailers and teasers, I had high expectations going into the movie. It wasn't that great imo, 5/10.

Thought Bryan Cranston will get more screen time.

With the guys above, wish walter whi...*ahen* sorry i mean bryan cranston wasn't killed so early on.

Still it was super cool seeing a lot of steveston and Vancouver in the movie.

And I thought it was pretty good overall.

1998 godzilla had puff daddy and green day soundtrack, AND buelers day off dude.

6/10.

2014 godzilla had walter white... and... kickass dude...

6.3/10

would give it a 7, if they had another puff daddy sound track. yeah.

no.

movie wasn't that great. walter white, is just, whiny walter white, like that extremely desperate, almost always on the edge of crying walter white.

monsters... eh, the fight scenes were sub par. i duno, the whole thing seemed retarded, if it weren't for the production value, the movie would be straight to dvd... or straight to netflix haha.

same here. some ppl laughed when he said Gozria. hahaha. Didnt like the doc's acting at all tho. didnt like his "surprised" facial expressions.. he looked stoned half the time.

atomic breath was awesome tho. 7.5/10

I don't mind it, they just sort of lied by showing so much of it in the trailers...
