I don't know the specific clearance on the ramps, but when you go thru, request to park on the lower deck. The ramp is lower than the ramp on the upper decks.

I've always used top loading to avoid clearance issues. Ground loading would always either high centre me or grind my frame rails. Never had an issue with top loading.

If possible, try and coincide your trips with high tide.

A friend of mine came over from the island for the RS summer meet. She called couple days before to see what they can do and they told her they can hp her out. Then the day off the let her in first or smthn. Not sure if they had 2x4 or whatever to make a ramp but she got on just fine. I suggest calling the ferries and explaining your situation

Which deck is best will probably vary depending on the tide, which terminal you're at, and which boat you're on. You can probably just ask the ramp workers when you're there, they should know which way will be best at that particular time, and send you the right direction.

When I go over to the mainland I ask to go on the truck deck. I've never had any issues with any car I have driven on.

Well, coming off each way was the worse part. Even angling scraped the fuck out of the lip.

Yep. I always requested lower deck as well. I've had a few slammed cars and I go at a big angle and still scrape the bottom of my front lip.

I just went on the ferry this weekend with my car which is lowered (not slammed) and I had no issues at all.

don't try to understand. your head will explode.

reminds me of the guy with the 7 series who was doing a burnout and ended up flipping the car on it's roof. heck, this might even be the same guy with a new car.

but i am off topic...

no worries about ramps with this technique... just make sure the landing sticks :bigthumb:
