so my brothers looking at buying a v6 accord coupe... would you guys go for the HFP or the regular v6 coupe??
also does anybody work at a Honda dealership??

HFP = a bodykit and up-rated spring rates and different damper settings. Not worth the extra cost in my opinion.

2014 or 2013?
I thought the 2014 didn't have an HFP option..at least according to Honda's site it doesn't. Only an "aero" package.
Don't know if there are any changes between the model years, but since Honda is having their model clear out, why not get the 2013 HFP coupe? I think that's 40g
The 2013 v6 is 37, but with the aero package is 2000, so you save a grand there.
I think what they did was just change the HFP parts into an"aero" package...so if all you're looking for is cosmetics, then there's really no difference.
Get a 2013 HFP for clear out price, or a 2014 with the aero package which is 1g cheaper.
You really have to shop around for the best deal between them

he doesn't care as long as its a 9th gen... so looking for either 2013 or 2014 we went to surrey honda and white rock honda and they both didn't have any 2013 coupes with a manual

Look at it this way:
With a manufacturer designed suspension and body kit, you won't have to monkey with negative camber or toe-in, ridiculously uneven tire wear, mismatched paint and lousy fitment. If you were to purchase an aftermarket suspension and body kit on your own and give the proper attention to areas that need it (camber kit, toe adjustment kit, high quality body kit, good body shop, etc) you'd end up spending the same amount, if not more money than buying OEM.
Unless you track your car and are always hunting to knock that second off your time, I think OEM performance options should be considered.
To the OP: Your brother will sacrifice a smidgen of ride quality and have to deal with a little more cabin noise with the HFP parts. Whether the small upgrade in looks and handling is worth it is his call.

Pacific Honda at Northshore Auto Mall has the V6 coupe in manual. Call (604) 889-1991 and ask for Anthony. He's the sales who sold me my Accord coupe.

I wouldn't pay more for the "HFP" cause sooner or later, you'll get sick of the wheels, and find it not low enough, and will start throwing after market part on.
I bought a 2013 sedan, with the factory lip kit only. No trunk spoiler no other option... Because I know I'll probably end up with aftermarket parts later

Is the OP's brother someone who modifies cars?
Remember guys that there are plenty of people who buy a car, drive it for 5+ years and don't change a single thing on it.
So OP is your brother going to want to modify the car or is he just going to buy it and drive it around as is?

Last time I was at Richmond Honda they had a couple of white 2013 coupes with the HFP kit at a $6,000 discount off of MSRP I think... this was a couple months ago, but I doubt they moved and when my friend bought a Civic Si a month ago he said they were still there.

Its okay, When I got my Elantra GT, they have to get a manual from another province, the sales who helped me said, since the Elantra GT lanuch, he has not seen a single one in manual trim, he said I am probably the first and possibly the last time he will see my car in a manual LOL...
I guess ya, econ box and manual transmission enthusiast does not really mix..
Sad face, probably will have a hard time selling it afterwards too.

i come from an era where if you have to get an econobox you better know how to row a stick because with an automatic and zero horsepower you're going to be the slowest thing on the road. nowadays, it's an incovenience for those who have to drive with their left hand and text or drink their starbucks with their right :o

2013 ? Are you sure ? I know Richmond Honda has been trying to get rid of the 2012 V6's with a $7k off their price tag.

Use a hair dryer to heat it up and remove it, clean up any glue residue with googone or something similar.

heat gun, fishing line and goo gone.

Don't use goo gone if the sticker is on a painted surface because it will fade the paint. Use 3M adhesive remover instead.

Used a hair dryer and sprayed bug and tar remover on it and the glue residue came off very easily
Now the only struggle is learning how to drive a manual properly

The hfp rims for the 9th green is not as appealing as the 8th gen.
I would say save the money on the hfp and navigation and just get a v6 without navigation (if I recall they probably don't have the option to not want navigation)

not sure if you had answered this already, but how much did your brother pay for the car, and how was your experience at westwood honda?
Jas29

sorry for not replying forgot to check the thread again somebody just liked 1 of my post in here
He paid 36ish
The experience was pretty bad once the papers were signed. They took off the locking wheel nuts and never changed the oil. The car had 5w20 put in it and we asked for them to put 0w20 which is recommended and they agreed but never did. The manger was also very bitchy when my brother asked why the locking wheel nuts were taken off(They gave us new 1s but we had to put them on ourselves) and when he asked about the oil he said he would print out a maintenance sheet that said 0w20 on it for warranty purposes but wouldn't change the oil.
He wont be taking the car back there for service.
Timpo he didn't like how the car looked with the spoiler
