HostGator is having a 1 day sale for 50% off any hosting plan. That means you can get a basic single domain webhost for as low as $2 a month if you pay for 3 years (one time payment of $38). This includes unlimited bandwidth and disk space. You can actually do quite a bit with this.. Set up your own email address with unlimited accounts, etc.

Go here (http://www.revscene.net/offers/go.php?id=40) and use the coupon code GATORDAY

There are other shared plans, if you need unlimited domains, etc

This also includes domain registration when you buy one with hosting (so you get a domain for $1.50!). So for $40 you can have a domain and hosting for 3 years... pretty much the best deal out there IMO. So check it out (http://www.revscene.net/offers/go.php?id=40)! Don't forget to use the coupon code to get 50% off!

I use them (using the same coupon code :p) for one of the sites I have built, and performance and uptime have been great, even with the basic plan. I have personally recommended them before, and even without the awesome deal they are a good host IMO.

Offer ends tonight (Tuesday Oct 22) at 9:59pm PST

This post supports RS

I believe the listed price is already the discount price.

Here's a screenshot of the basic hosting/domain combo:

What are the $35 of addons you selected? I guess addons aren't discounted

Yeah, it looks like that is the case. The addons are selected by default (Sitelock and CodeGuard). I did not select these in the end, but validating the code did not show any discounts for the addons. I actually decided with the "Baby" package with no add ons.

yeah all hosting companies do that, sometimes you have to actively remove the addons yourself. I guess it must work on dumb people who don't pay attention!

That's because I was already looking at host gator and just typed in the URL. The coupon code you posted was generic. Anyone that went to host gator automatically had the coupon code entered. next time get a unique coupon/referral code for RS and make sure the deal is not available to everyone. Hosting 50% off today only - RedFlagDeals.com Forums (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/hosting-50-off-today-only-1396968/)

You should also use a sales funnel to drive traffic to the sale.

so how many tens of dollars did RS make?

If you want I can post a URL to the site. Nothing is up yet just a hostgator splash page.

Wow nice man, real classy.

What URL did you use?

LOL. I kinda figured thats what happened.

Not something I would have done Manic, but I get the comedy in it.

I mean come on SP has a completely legitimate reason for posting this and there is ethically nothing wrong with the business from any standpoint. So why not let him make a couple bucks when it does not affect you or the price you paid at all...?

I would have gone threw RS If i knew the code was generic. The original post made it sound like you had to type in GATORDAY an RS promo code to get the discount.

Let me guess Host Gator paid no money up front? So they got a add on RS for free. Now this add promoting Host gator will be here for ever when there sale was only for one day and RS only made money for one day.

The idea was to click through the link provided, which is what tracks the visitors, not the obviously generic code that has no mention of RS on it.

So what is your domain? Maybe we can still get credit for it. If you want you can just PM it to me

Also Hostgator is still my recommended host. Even without the sale, they are really good. If anyone is looking for a host, they can still order through us. I have made them our default banner in some spots.

It shows all my account info. How much is RS getting paid?

It's enough to make it worthwhile... You can probably delete any sensitive information.

Please and thanks!
