Lamborghini Gallardo UR Twin Turbo Top Speed 405 kmh (251 mph) - YouTube what about this though... is this considered in a different class or something because this car is clearly faster... if you ask me this seems harder to do with a true manual

what was the time for Gallardo? GT-R did in 22.602 seconds
Maybe that's why?

I think the point of the video is that it's the fastest a GTR has gone in the mile, not that it's the fastest mile ever recorded.

There is actually a newer Gallardo one from this event I think
Lamborghini LP570 Underground Racing R2 (2005 HP) ? World Record - YouTube
Time is 21.852 at 4:26 of the video...
Or is this another event?

why is everyone using Gallardo for speed record, for anything, accelration, topspeed, nurburgring latime, everything.
nobody seems to use Murcielago or Aventador for some reason.

I can only guess,
I believe the Gallardo is a better platform to mod than the Murcielago,
As for the Aventador its just too expensive and too new, doesn't it go for around 500,000? The Gallardo is just way cheaper, more people have it, more people willing to mod it.
Also the first gallardo was TTed around 2006 I think, so more experience on that platform.
Tuners can pick up a Gallardo for less than 100k.

pretty sure that's just top speed record for a convertible, not a mile drag

You gotta love the, somewhat unspoken, rivalry between Switzer and AMS. I wonder how AMS will respond with the Alpha.

Timpo must have jizzed when he found this video. I'm sure after seeing the video of the local Mustang run 8's in the 1/4 mile he must have spent many sleepless nights trying to find a GT-R that was faster. After failing in that endeavor he must have felt like he found the holy grail after discovering another video about the GT-R that proves once and for all it's really fastaaarrr than anything else.

The mustang was a true stick... If we're talking fastest drag times between heavily modded mustangs and gtrs. Mustang wins hands down... Just ask John force. I think his make around 10000 rwhp

Throw enough money at anything and you can make it go 7 seconds; however, most times what remains of the actual car is absolutely appalling. I mean that 7 second GTR is truly a car capable of being driven around town. Something tells me you wouldnt want to drive a 7 second honda civic around vancouver...

Not so fast!! Those are only records at the Unlimited 500 races in Russia. The real record holder is here.

This civic is from Trinidad (where I'm from). Drives to the track calmly on street tires, run 10s all day on slicks.

Reason being that the Gallardo closely matches the weight and size of the GT-R so all car enthusiats use it as a benchmark. Also needs more body kit.

Those Hondas are running LS1 engines tuned to 800000 horespower. Still lifting with american muscle. Also that motorcycle is photoshopped. I've seen a few in my time to know.

I would love to see that 2L 4cyl engine produce enough torque to lift the front end like that. It could very well exist

it's a VTEC turbo...
but lifting front end doesn't mean it's fast...it can only do 9 seconds

Wow it took that guy less than a year to go from setting a world record at 223MPH all the way to 283MPH. He gained 50MPH in the 1 mile in less than a year. Thats good development & progress.
283 MPH is blindingly quick, I have gone 250km/h (ish) on a motorcycle, and above 200 I get tunnel vision, I cannot imagine what happens to someone above 400 km/h. (yes I understand its different in a car, but still that is properly epic)
