Intended to show the company's vision for the next generation of Japanese Taxis, the concept is designed for five-passengers. Power in the JPN Taxi comes from a hybrid LPG powertrain. The firm says it has incorporated design elements from the London Taxi into its styling.

I like the interior. But the exterior resembles the London taxi...very classy

I like the obvious nod to the London Taxi but mixing modern elements and design language into it makes it look awkward.

I do like the interior, though.

How does it fit 5 passengers? It looks to have space for one passenger in the front passenger side seat and 3 in the back...?

Timpo or the author of the article probably meant 5 passengers including the driver. I don't see how you can safely fit 5 passengers + the driver in that car.

... you can clearly see the front seat is not a bench seat.

I guess it's just a Timpo fail but usually he just copies and pastes stuff and I would assume that whoever put together these renders would have the good sense to distinguish between a passenger and driver.
