2014 Honda CR-Z Gains HPD Supercharger to Make 200-HP | AutoGuide.com News (http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2013/11/2014-honda-cr-z-gains-hpd-supercharger-to-make-200-hp.html)

"The real exciting news is the announcement of the HPD-developed centrifugal supercharger that will add around 70 hp to the CR-Z, helping boost total system output to 200 hp. Coming along with the package will be an HPD air-to-air intercooler, high-flow fuel injectors, an ECU calibrated to meet CART AT-PZEV regulations with 91-octane fuel, an HPD air filter system and an HPD sport exhaust. Chassis improvements on the HPD Supercharged CR-Z include sport dampers, coil springs, larger disc brakes and HDP 18-inch wheels matched to Michelin Pilot Sport tires."

HPD is the new HFP? :suspicious:

It'll be interesting to see how this performs against the Si.

but the whole point of CRZ was good gas mileage by hybrid system.
and it wasn't even THAT good for a hybrid

if you put a supercharger...I don't know what kind of gas mileage you are going to get.
People swap K20 and still get a really good gas mileage...and get 200+hp NA

It will also be lighter and stuff too..

sure it will get good mileage, but apart from the supercharger, it will require (or be recommended) 91 octane..which off sets the amount you save on gas with good mileage doesn't it?

Just like he smart. Don't understand why it needs premium.

Loving the new CRZ. Honda getting back on track.

This is what the CR-Z is missing. Hopefully the HPD package doesn't cost $20783484283423 though.

I don't think this will sell well. The people that want a sports car are not buying a CRZ, they're buying the SI with a nice 5 speed and proven NA motor.

CRZ was a car that is designed to have good file mileage, jam 200hp into it and now it's a hybrid and fuel saving car that's not and a half assed sports car on a platform that was never ment for it.

And the civic platform is what you would call a sports car?
There is no reason why someone who would be looking into a Si wouldn't consider a supercharged CRZ. I bet it would be awesome in the city.

CRZ platform is a lot more sporty than the civic platform that's for sure.

CRZ should have had that much power from the start. Thing is woefully, pathetically slow.

FWD =/= sports car. Something like a Focus ST or a Renaultsport Megane R26.R is the closest they come. A Civic SI is just a sporty economy car. An example of a sports car would be a Porsche Cayman, or a 370Z etc.
