This weekend, Future Shop (Best Buy too apparently) will be allowing the trade in of any game for COD, BF4 or AC4:BF. One game per day per store according to what I've read. Looks like any game can be traded in as long as it's current gen. Enjoy!

I am sure some of you have seen the article by Matt Hartley in the Financial Post today about a trade in offer this weekend (November 9-11).

I unfortunately have to tell you that if you are interested in this promotion, you will have to bear with me in the line because I will for sure be there with you :smileyvery-happy:

This promotion is one of the best I have seen. Here is how it works. Bring a copy of ANY used Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or the Wii U game (one that works and has the original jewel case) and you can trade it in for a current generation (Xbox360, PS3 or WiiU) version of: Assassin’s Creed IV, Call of Duty: Ghosts or Battlefield 4.

That is it. No catch.

How awesome is that?

Now, a couple of small things to note: There’s a limit of one free game per customer, per day. also, there are a few stores that are not participating: Nanaimo, Kelowna, Vaughan, St. James, Garden City, Pembina and Richmond Hill.

A couple FS twitter accounts confirmed it. There's also an article on it. Nothing from best buy yet tho. I hope they do the same promo. Best Buy is a lot closer to me ever since the Metrotown futureshop closed.

^ My guess is that they have boxes of the games in the back. They'll take out the games that were reserved. The rest will be used for the offer. It'll obviously while supplies last, but since it's not just one day only, I wouldn't be surprised if they held stock over for the other 2 days.

I have no idea why they are doing this, but it is not for the fear of having left over stock. You realize that the actual value in the cd and the case for it is absolutely ZERO. I mean if costs them pennies to make so why the fuck would they care if they have to throw out 100000 CD's?

The $60 we pay for the game is all the value of the content on that disc. And them giving that away for so cheap seems ridiculously generous to me. I'm definitely heading gonna try to grab COD.

it's always been that way for their weekly trade-in promotions, 1 per customer per day. if they recognize you, they can decline. if they don't, there's nothing stopping you from doing a 2nd or 3rd trade.

they dont ask for ID, but they do take down your name and #. however, you can just use a different # and hope they don't recognize you

9:30 - Some brown guy called all his friends and cousins and uncles which started to pile in the lineup. At least 15-20 of them all cut in line.

10:00 - Everyone was lining up to get in through the in store pickup door, then Bestbuy officially opened the front doors and everyone went in through that instead, now theres 2 lines that merged into one.

Got a copy near 11:15 with probably 100 people still behind in line.

Saw a couple RSers tho, Freshvibe's Subi, Nvasion's TL, an Accord coupe with wheels, and someone's white FRS on gold rims.

People abused the shit out of this. I have no idea why but the Park royal FS was allowing people to get one copy of each game, ON EACH CONSOLE. The early people who lined up walked out with 6 games a piece... It clearly said 1 game per customer.

So even by like 10:00 there was only COD left for both consoles...

I ended up picking up 3 copies of COD for xbox, just to fuck everyone else over like I got fucked. :ilied:

Now I'm just giving them to my friends, so atleast we can pay together while we wait for next gen consoles...

i got lucky, was on my way to langley and a friend was in the bestbuy line that was like 5 mins from cashier and he let me in " already waited at scott rd location for 3 hours and they let everyone have all 3 fucking copies until they ran out.. i was pissed!

anyways bestbuy in langley had 7 tills open, and it only took 30 seconds to get my game "battlefield"

For those in Vancouver, Future Shop on Robson St. will be opening again tomorrow at 11am and they do have COD:Ghosts left and that's it. The staff was pretty much shutting the line down and told people to come back in the morning (11am).

Poor kid in front of me was only 15 and they wouldn't let him buy a game. Us in line suggested we help him but they said he had to have his guardian here. So the staff accepted the idea of calling his mom which she did and all was good. THEN his game was not for resale lol. I did my good karma of the day and helped the kid out by giving the kid my spare ps3 game. I guess they're still pretty strict on the not for resale games and age restriction.

Langley bestbuy fucked up pretty bad they where letting people take all 3 games no 1 copy a person rule until like 2 pm they switched it, people where choked!
