They have been promoting the hell out of this show for months on NFL, but it always looked so stupid to me since they kept showing the same 2 scenes over and over.

But 2 episodes in, and I am surprised at how decent the show is. Maybe standards have fallen since I rarely start watching more than 1 new show a year now it seems. But it seems pretty solid. Interesting lead characters, great soundtrack, cool ideas for the 'future' (and some bad ones), even funny sometimes

There are the typical tropes you have to deal with, it being a network TV show, but overall I will definitely be watching each episode as it comes out. I haven't done that with a new network show for a long time.

They did the second ep on Tuesday, it was pretty good and some good jokes that I didn't expect on network TV

I just hope it doesn't turn into a procedural crime drama...

As for the show, I like it so far. While it is, yes, just another cop show when all is said and done, I do enjoy the futuristic angle... which is probably one reason why I like Continuum. I just hope it's more Fringe than Alcatraz, though.

Premiere was last Sunday, second ep was Monday, and it goes to a regular Monday run now. Quite enjoyed it. Part buddy-cop show, hints of fish-out-of-water... good characters all around so far. They've done a relatively believable future, too, not WAY out there like so many others.

Do any crime drama shows have a storyline? Every episode is usually about solving a case, eventually leading up to a case that involves the main characters past. In this case it will probably be about how John's girlfriend got involved with the Syndicate.

Even a show like Person of Interest didn't have much of a proper storyline to begin with. It takes a few episodes to properly establish characters, backgrounds, etc., before a good story arc can begin fleshing itself out. And look at POI now; while it's ultimately yet another procedural crime drama with a twist, it's still one of the best shows on TV right now. Give it some time. ;)

+1, it's really good... nothing earth-shattering on the TV landscape compared to things like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, etc., but still a cut above your average futuristic buddy-cop drama, largely because of really well-done and well-acted characters (and mmmmmmmminka!)

wish they would develop more of john's past gf that betrayed him and his pursue to find her and the group that ambushed his raid. at this rate, the show seem disconnected and nothing is linking together.

I think we've all been spoiled by good shows on cable. For what it is this show is at the very least amusing, you also have to factor in they gotta make 20+ eps and that hurts story telling.

Having said that though they probably would have been better served if they solved less cases and focused on further character development. Just off the top of my head these are issues I have

1) The Chrome? (Clone?) storyline, they just say like "oh they're genetically engineered" but to me that's not like enough.....so if these guys are all perfect and rich, do they then run the whole city? Are they the future 1%?

2) The Minka Kelly and Karl Urban storyline, they had like 3 eps in between from initiating the potential romance to him actually sorta acting on it. I just find that weird.

3) They intermittently throw in bits of storyline almost randomly and reprise his old gf stuff every once in a while, but I don't think it works.....

4) The opening is kinda stupid after like the second ep, it's nice to hear from the voice over what the show is about, but for the 12th time it's starting to be a little annoying, it's minor yes but they very well can just play some music.

I think the show could be doing better if they focused more on the deal with his ex-gf etc. I mean, i'm sure they are working towards that, but its going REALLY slow.

that's one of the things i hate about FOX they're always canceling shows that are pretty good
its a shame they dont pass the show on to one of their other networks instead of outright canceling them (dont they own FX or something?)

you can tell even from the first episode that terra nova was a big gamble for Fox.. it was a high budget show with big set piece and outdoor location

ratings started to dip as soon as the segment with the daughter and soldier falling in love with father getting involve and dissaproving etc....

Almost Human had a better chance of surviving if it was on FX or even SyFy.. just look at Helix.. got renewed for second season
