Yes, it's that important that it needs its own thread......... at least I didn't title it "Official" LOLOLOL. Don't want the justice league going after my nards, now do I.

Anyway, Canadian companies are fighting back with a vengeance this year. Cambodian Tire is having a Red Thursday Sale this week. Princess Auto is having daily deals all week.

Post up any info here, once you find out.

I'm looking forward to some great deals. Calling all frugal Asians.......... unite!

EDIT: the deals can be from both sides of the border...... on-line and in person. Let us know if you're planning on heading south this week. Perhaps we can form a Canadian Convoy -- safety in numbers, LOL.

Am I the only one who hates black friday, boxing day and any big sales types events? Can't stand the crowds, lines and crazy behavior just to save a few dollars. Personally I would rather pay more and shop in peace and not deal with crowds. At least these days some deals are online now so you can skip dealing with the crowds and ridiculous cheap people clamoring over sales.

+1. I do not like Black Friday shopping either. Black Friday sales in the United States can sometimes show the worst of humanity. -heard stories from friends about seeing guys fighting each other to get ahead in a lineup at Target.

-massive stampedes of crazy consumers who may trample someone in a heartbeat just to buy something at a sale price.

Justice league LOLololol.

Anyway online for sure, plus other retailers join in so it's really not that bad. I'm looking forward to the sales up here. Hardcore bargain hunters will head south I guess. I'm staying put.

Yeah I really hate Boxing Day. People line up the night of Christmas to buy more shit that they'll end up throwing in a closet a month later?

:fuckthatshit:

All Black Friday / Boxing Day sales are just lower retail mark up. I'm glad I'm not a materialistic douche.

Clothes I find it worth it.
Whatever they cant sell they just mark the whole store down 50%.
Spot out whats remaining and try on..couple days before boxing day. Go early...and take it straight to the cash register.

If all the planets line up, Superstore will have a no tax sale while TV's are on sale. Last year, the spend over 250 bucks freebie was a 25 dollar gift card - all at the same time. Now that would be awesimo........

Yeah Amazon has daily sales on right now. The .com site is better than the .ca site, by far. I get the e-mails because I have an account and have bought a whole bunch of stuff over the last couple of years - both .ca and .com. Once in a while the .ca site has some awesome deals. Like a brand new Milwaukee 12 volt Fuel ratchet kit for under US sale prices. I jumped at that one - free shipping, too.

Yup, did that and I'm on the third and final replacement, because I finally stopped using it. Don't know what it is about Mastercraft ratchets, but I've never had issues with other cheap brands.

I use air tools all the time now, and for the rare times I'm not near a compressor, I use my Milwaukee cordless ratchet. Damn, that thing is nice.

A not very well known fact is that Canadian Tire will typically honour their next flyer sales a day early and usually a couple days after it ends. It's worked for me quite a few times when I wanted to pick up a deal that I know will sell out within the first couple hours of opening.

YMMV.

If it is part of a set, you have to bring the whole set it AND receipt.. which can be a PITA.

If you had bought a mastercraft ratchet from CT, just take it back as it has lifetime warranty.

I was gonna get the Philips 50" 1080P LED Door Crashers @ Target for 399.99, but I must be getting old, as I was just thinking about the line up to go shopping... err ya.... no....

Eventually picked up something from Walmart.ca, Philips 40" 1080P LED, even though it is only 60Hz.... whatever, $299.99 + tax and free shipping to my door, ordered it online at the comfort of my home.

For the extra 10", to spend $112 more and wait maybe 2 to 3 hours in line is just... not worth it IMHO. Plus at the distance I place the TVs, 40" should be plenty LOL... and the TV ships before GT6 WOOT!

People fighting over a 32 inch TV to save what $50. Black Friday is the stupidest idea ever. Why have a massive sale when you it is your biggest shopping season and people will be buy stuff anyways. The idea of a sale is to bring people in when it is slow not when it is the busiest.

MG1
11-29-2013, 05:41 AM
But if it wasn't for Black Friday, it wouldn't be busy at all. People used to shop second week of December for Xmas........... at least it used to be this way decades ago. OK, maybe 30, 40+ years ago. Hee hee......

And, to a frugal Asian, Dutch, Jew, Scottsman, etc. 50 bucks is a hella lot........ to poor people, too. Not everyone is swimmin' in disposable income.

If you mean heading down to the US, then unless you've seen a door crasher with what you're looking for, they probably have whatever you want.

just to add to the shitting on black friday:

my company has a customer who is the director of security at a large california mall. he was ranting to me about black friday and told me that the door crashing times have been creeping sooner and sooner. last year was 12AM on black friday but this year it's 8PM mall opening on thanksgiving eve. Now think about it - that means people are skipping thanksgiving altogether to line up and get in there by 8PM, for a tv.

Looking for a juicer.

Any good deals out there?

If you are looking for a juicer for health reasons, a masticating (no, not masterbating) juicer is best.

The most affordable one is the Omega line of juicers. You can get them at Beds, Bath, and Beyond. Use the Home Outfitter coupon to get 20% off. Just go to Home Outfitters website and find coupon - download and print. Bed Bath and Beyond will honour competitor's coupons - Home Outfitters, being their biggest competitor here.

As for any other kind, people go for the Breville juicer. It's rated number one.

BTW, the Omega isn't well made, as in it has plastic parts, but the way it juices, keeps all the nutrients from escaping and literally going down the drain.

The Breville is a tank, but like I mentioned earlier, it depends on what you want to do.

Does anyone have an educated guess about the deals for cyber Monday vs. boxing day because I want to grab a pair of flyknits and the deal right now is around 20% at Footlocker, Sportchek, etc. Want to know if I should wait it out until boxing day or even just go to the states in general.

If you're worried about them being available in a few weeks, then get them now. You likely won't save a significant amount.

If you feel adventurous and think that the shoes will be there in your size and colour on Dec. 26th, then by all means wait. Boxing Day is traditionally Canada's biggest retail day, so I suspect that it'll be as good if not better than BF sales locally (for now, at least).
