So I purchased a new mobo asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0.i put everything together did a fresh install of windows then installed all the drivers from the cd.everything was working but then I did the windows updates and now my lan controller or audio is not working.bios is updated and all the latest drivers are installed. I don't think it's the board because this is the second board that it's happened again.first one I returned thinking it was just a bad board.

you installed the drivers from the cd?
Please install your drivers from asus's website @ ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download (http://support.asus.com/download/options.aspx?SLanguage=en&type=1)

lol if you still have problems.. just format and reinstall windows.. after installation is done, update drivers from ASUS... then windows update and do not select and drivers related to your mobo?

Which Windows Os are you using? Make sure you get the current one for the current version you are installing .. eg XP 32 bit vs 64bit etc.

Screw those drivers, download "driver genius" cracked version from Pirate Bay. It'll scan you're pc for any missing drivers you need and to update and fix the issue. Worked countless times for me when I fuck up installing new software.

LOL wow... if you didnt install any windows drivers for those parts and it screws up.. must be a confict with something else you installed?
Are there any apps you also installed or is just still a fresh installation with nothing else but the windows update?

Ok so a bit of an update. I went into safe mode in networking and installed the drivers in there and now my Internet seems to be working.but the light on the ethernet port is amber(should be green). Still however am not getting audio from my speakers. In the audio device list it says my
speakers arent plugged even though they are.its not the speakers because i tested them on a diff computer.i don'tknow why but Iit just won't detect my speakers

The ethernet light is amber because your router is not gigabit speed. Your router has 1/10 that speed. Don't worry about it.
Make sure you are plugging your speakers into the green jack on the I/O shield.
