| Acer Iconia (W700-6827) 11.6" Tablet
My wife needed a replacement for her old-ass laptop. Our budget was around $500, and after some research, I ended up getting her this tablet. Within the price range, there were plenty of decently, spec'd laptops, but they all had 720p displays vs the Iconia's 1080p. The model we have is the i5/4GB RAM/64GB SSD model purchased from the latest NCIX sale. It comes with a cover and keyboard, dock, and hdmi adapter.
The dock is made out of plastic and it's kind of cheap feeling, but the tablet is top-notch quality. Navigation is fast and smooth. With the keyboard case, you can use it like a laptop on your lap. It weighs around 2lbs which isn't too much heavier than the original iPad, but it does way more. Overall, it's a fantastic device. My only complaints are the cheap dock, and the lack of trackpad on the keyboard. We are very happy with the purchase.

How much did you end up paying for it?

^^^
It seems it's possible. A quick Google search yields a lot of discussion of people upgrading to larger-sized SSDs.
