Meet Verrückt (German for insane), the world's tallest waterslide at 17 stories high. This monster is located in Schlitterbahn Park in Kansas City. You can slide down this beast at over 65 mph while sitting in a four person inflatable raft.

The waterslide is open starting on May 23rd.

I'm surprised the side walls wouldn't be taller.

probably not as thrilling as sliding down without a raft
but then again you'll get the ultimate wedgie

if you think the slide is scary...imagine the lifeguards that have to climb that ladder :heckno:...hope it's only for the service workers and lifeguards take the usual stairs

I'm surprised the side walls wouldn't be taller.

with such a big drop gravity will keep you grounded even if you try it fight it...there's no way of flying out unless it's banked

Wonder how many people climb up there, only to back off at the top.

I'm waiting for the raft to catch air and fly off the slide.

ever do the one at cultus lake? my butt comes clean off on that one, the speed at which you go down, plus the parachute effect of your swim shorts is definitely gonna generate some lift

anyway, they probably use raft for this monstrosity just because the heat generated by your butt on the slide would be enough to set them on fire :P

Wonder how many can even make the climb to the top. This is the American mid-west after all...

i'm no aficionado in physics but it doesn't seem like the raft is gonna adhere to that

+1 on that. i did the one that seems like free fall, and i swore i wasn't even touching the slide until i hit the curve past the half way point on that slide.

i swore i had lift off. this one seems to be testing your luck just by looking at that video

Fat Americans will park their big asses inside a inflatable raft for four people.
That raft should stretch out. :woot2:

Agreed, there is definitely some lift generated when I went down this. It wasn't much, but still enough for me to feel it.

Coming off this new slide seems ridiculous. But, they must have tested it like crazy right????
