Last night Vancouver BMW & Ducati had an official unveil of the Ducati 899 Panigale. The bike looks stunning and the technology behind it is interesting like the fact that the engine is basically the chassis, although i'm not too sure about the 24,000km service intervals for the valves. seems a little long.
either way, here are some pictures from the event.

Your shots are insane, what lens are you using?

Thanks guys, comments on this forum are definitely better than those on BCSB lol

it's a Canon 40mm f2.8

I really do not like BCSB... the tone and atmosphere on that forum is atrocious. The users are so combative it's absurd... if Gwilo wasn't there keeping it locked down I don't know what it would be like... I read through threads every day and do not find the users to be inviting or anything... It's kinda why I am so active here because I have nowhere else to let out my Sportbike enthusiasm. lol.

I'm always surprised at how sharp the 40mm f2.8 (pancake) lens is... my preference would still be to use the 50mm f1.8 and stop it down (terrific sharpness at f2.2)... but if you are using a crop sensor body it's just too tight for indoor use like above... the 40mm is a perfect compromise. :)

yep, my thoughts exactly. I'm using the lens on a canon T3i and I had considered the 50mm but I just wouldn't have the room for indoor and at auto meets/shows.

Even at that dealership I had a somewhat difficult time getting some of the bikes in full frame due to the limited room.... and I didn't want to accidentally tip over a $15,000 Ducati/BMW with a room full of people.
