having said that i hope this gives closure...i read in an interview saying the movie can still happen or they might consider a 24 reboot/recast with a 12 episode format :rukidding:

the production of 24 has always been a costly one and they tend to add / change the script as they go, with only 12, they can really nail the script down with a fixed direction and control cost?

How did Jack know they captured Chloe if Special Activities Division's detainees are all top secret? Jack's good with guns, not computers. Can't imagine he hacked his way to that info.

How is it that CIA (officers? agents?) can operate openly and freely in a foreign country? Armed with automatic weapons no less?

Honestly, I wasn't paying too close attention to the episodes when I watched them, despite what it seems. These things just stood out a lot that didn't make a whole lot of sense.

yes there's tons of backstory...and without watching 24 in its glory years you wont be able to appreciate this new one. If my memory is correct you need to watch up to season 5 (pretty much when the show stopped being good) and the end of the final season (8).

My turn to nitpick: i'm a bit annoyed by the blue-tint/HDR effect they're going for vs the old golden/yellow palette in earlier seasons...it feels like im playing battlefield 3 :heckno:

so far the show is not bad...i like that the plot is focused on the drone controversy which is pretty relevant...even though they kinda did it in Homeland (same producer). One thing where 24 shines is the POTUS...Palmer, Logan and Heller. I hope they bring Agent Pierce back

The silent countdown at the end kind of throws your off. Its only meant for a significant character dieing before the commercial break. So it really leaves it up in there in the end.

Also, the world of 24 doesn't really exist anymore. Remember that it was made on the heels of 9/11 and terrorism scares so people didn't think much about Bauer torturing and killing people for national security but now that everyone's all outraged by Guantanamo and whatever, it's probably best the series moved on. They can do the same things...but they'll have to explain themselves.
