Friends will be visiting in a couple days for 2 weeks. They would want to use some temporarily pre-paid data plan that does not require any contract / agreement.

Roammobility only provides US packages, but not within Canada

Any alternatives?

Would recommend this. Used 7-11 Speakout for the 2 months i was in Vancouver. Uses the rogers network as well albeit limited (no hotspots/tether)

Do they have their own phone? You can always try Fido or Chart.

Fido just dropped prepaid data $5, $20 for 500mb and $30 1GB
You can't tether with it and voice/text is extra

Both Wind and Mobilicity have prepaid plans with no contracts.

Wind prepaid is maximum $2 a day. When you make phone calls or use enough data that cost $2, then the rest of the day it's unlimited.

Edit: Never mind. Looks like new clients can't get that plan anymore because they got rid if it

I'm not sure if all phones work on Wind, I have a Note 3 unlocked I got from HK and works on Fido LTE but when I asked if I could use this phone on Wind some people were telling me only the Canadian model or T-Mobile US model would work. Not sure if I was given some misinformation though.

Koodo prepaid.

$15 basic plan (unlimited text)+500MB for $20/1GB for $30+(optional)$5 for 25min Canada-wide minute.

That's why I got for my in-law when they came over for the holidays.

$60 and you get 3G on Telus network. Very fast and decent coverage.

Oh, and tethering is enabled.

Wind/ Mobilicity uses the aws band and need a phone that uses that or else you'd be roaming all the time.

These phones usually are more expensive.

Where you get $5?

$10/20/30 has always been the regular price.
