Help me decide

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get a netbook for my mom and I'm not sure which one of these is better. She uses it for ms word, email , web surf (banking, cooking videos, etc.). I will need to install Windows 7 (Ultimate) and Office 2010 on the machine, so it has to be able to run it.

Thanks guys!

option 1
AMD Neo MV-40 1.6GHz CPU (Way faster than Atom Netbook)
3GB DDR2 Sodimm
160GB SATA HDD

option 2
1.66 GHz Intel Atom N450 processor
(512 KB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB) combines performance and energy efficiency to explore the Internet and stay connected while mobile.
250 GB hard drive
(5400 RPM)
1 GB DDR2 RAM
(667 MHz; 1 GB maximum capacity)

option 3
Intel Atom Processor 1.66GHz
1GB RAM
160GB HDD

i got a netbook for my mom long time ago and she actually did not like it because the screen size is too small so that's something to think about. There are laptops under 500 which i think would suffice for what she does and outperform netbooks other than portability and possibly battery life.

edit: out of the 3 I'd go with option 1. Not sure how smooth W7U would run on just 1 gb of ram.

Have you considered a Chromebook? I know you need Office but the Google productivity suite is not shabby at all and relatively inexpensive.

I bought a netbook for my parents thinking they would love it but in fact they ended up donating it. Haha

Thanks guys. My mom is going from a Acer Netbook to another netbook. She's ok with the screen size.

I actually bought Option 2 with 2gb of ram.

Chromebook is good but my mom is old school. Teaching her google docs would be a bit complicated.
