Anyone else watched the first episode?
I thought it was not too bad...
The part where the ship got shot at a few times and can see damage, the next scene, there was no damage.. I thought it was a :fulloffuck: moment.. lol

I didn't know it was already being screened! I'll have to check it out! Last year I was working at the airport in Smithers where parts of it were being filmed, I remember a blacked out A-star heli refuelling and on either side of it were men with machine guns. Now at that point I had no idea there was a series being filmed here so my first reaction was quite surprised to see that in small town Smithers!

It was alright. I do find the premise interesting although I'm really not betting on it being a "good" series. I think it will be fine entertainment though.

Wasn't a bad premiere episode, but I fear that it's gonna be like Last Resort. Good premise, but not enough material to keep it interesting for more than a couple seasons without going the Lost route.

Just finished the premiere as well. Looking forward to it. The setting makes it more interesting.

I like this series so far. I also like the fact they're in a destroyer. It would have been too easy to have them on an aircraft carrier, with nuclear power and unlimited range, and so much firepower that they'd never really be worried about someone coming after them.
Second episode had a great cliffhanger ending...
While they're getting ready to leave Guantanamo with their fuel/food, they spot a ship approaching 20+ miles out. They contact the other ship and a British female who's also planning to get supplies from Guantanamo answers. They invite them to join them. When the ship is in visual range, it activates its radar/weapons and turns out to be a Russian ship and the Russian commander tells them they have something they want.

in the middle of the second episode... ill give it a few more episodes chance but right now im bored as fuck. nice premise but the show is just looking like garbage to be completely honest. or at least this episode is really, really bad.

Of course they had to go to Gitmo, and of course there had to be Al Qaeda there. A friend brought up a good point about this... When the Commander was talking about there being no more "good" or "bad" guys anymore, it would have been interesting to see at least one of the Al Qaeda guys take up the offer to join the ship's crew. Would have added some interesting tension to an already overly tense crew. Plus it would have been a good chance to blur the lines between good/evil during a time of global catastrophe. Y'know, something like Last Of Us. But considering it's a partial Michael Bay production... 'Murica, Fuck Ya!

I think they played the mole card too early. Could have left it for at least a couple more episodes without making it too obvious, I think. Not that a Russian ship coming after them when there's only one Russian on board isn't obvious at all... (actually, he's not Russian is he?)

Well, been watching it since episode one. Today's episode was good. Like someone mentioned earlier, just turn the brain off and enjoy it.
That Swedish<?> guy on the Russian ship is uber creepy. A lot of American rah, rah, but whatever...........

Stopped watching after episode 3... it went past being "so bad it's good" right into "just bad" territory for me. Come on, it is REALLY bad
Got better. Plus, they just got green light for second season.

let's set explosives all over the ship carrying nuclear warheads
Yeah, they should have blown that ship out of the water. This is why the Japanese Samurai killed off the entire families of their enemies after they defeated them. No chance of revenge.
That Russian ship will be back. You can count on it. Plus, patient zero is still alive - mutations of the virus, perhaps? The series would be over if it weren't for loose ends. New baddies will crop up. As long as there's suspense and good action, I'll keep watching it. Gawd, I miss Walking Dead. Have to settle for tid bits like this on the tube till then.

Nuclear warheads are kept inert until activated. They don't explode if a bomb goes off next to it.
I'm on the fence about this show. I talked in one of my earlier posts about how they could have gone in such a different direction in terms of political and sociological statements (ie: my example about an Al Quaida agent taking up the Captain's offer on amnesty for the better of the world), but it's turned out to simply be a typical Jerry Bruckheimer flick... and it's definitely far from his best work. There's so much they can do in terms of the infected and how people from different nations have to work together (c'mon, did they really have to use the old Cold War stereotype of USA vs Russia?). Hell, even seeing old allies (say the USA and UK) turn against each other would be more interesting than the Russian angle.
That said, I don't think this show is intended for anything more than mindless entertainment - especially since it's a Summer show - so my expectations were low. They still are, yet I'm still inclined to tune in every week to watch it.
Not sure what that says about myself...

What about patient zero? He was walking through the ship at the end. If he didn't get the vaccine then he's basically killed everyone on the ship.

Yet we have cold war tensions coming back between Russia and the US over Ukraine in real life. Some things never really do change even though they appear to get better for awhile.
The Russian Commander reminds me of Putin. A power-mad iron-fisted ruler who's kept at bay by the rest of the world. What would Putin do if he knew there was no way the US or anyone else could stop him (due to some other world crisis)? Would he sit still and play nice? Or run over Europe?
Chick left the vaccine behind after grabbing the gun under the false floor. Maybe he vaccinated himself. Maybe he was never infected or had a vaccine developed and never told anyone from day one. He too had a wife. Bastard guy.
On a side note, this series is almost as bad as that Halle Berry show, Extant. Only difference is, I can watch Last Ship episodes and not fall asleep. If it weren't for Halle Berry............ nuff said. Dat dress during party - wow.

i think that resemblance was intended. Ever notice hollywood villains were always eastern european in the 1980-90's then became middle eastern the past decade? helps sway the public's opinion of war against those countries ;)
that's my theory anyway.
good show, finished all 10 episodes past few days
All these summer series are coming to an end. Under the Dome is still running - I believe last episode is September 22nd.
Skitters are back soon And Walking Dead

That Japanese dude was hilarious......... why you so good cook?
Pretty tense episode. Looking forward to find out what the Chinese are up to. I like the president. For a guy who got shoved into it. Just imagine if it was Trump.
Anyway, glad to see someone else watching this pretty good series.

as long as Sasha's back next season, that's all i care about :lol
only issue i had with the finale was why they made it such a big deal to shoot Shaw. they already had original plans to capture/assassinate all of the big players anyway, so it made no difference. if this is what questions his moral judgement.... well, they never made a big deal out of killing Pang (or letting someone kill him) back then, so what gives now?

Ending seemed pretty rushed to me
Also the villains were so cartoony... Like this entire show is a live cartoon, but even for that they were over the top campy IMO
